One of the smaller sized guys who appreciates what I have by sending me an email made me think about this. When I was growing up other than a porn magazine, or things like Penhouse Forum fantasy stories about how a big dick felt crazy better to some woman there really was minimal exposure to questions about size. Yes, there were locker rooms but you saw guys soft and women probably did not see naked men at all in general. So, knowing how you stacked up really didn't exist and that was true for men but especially the women that would see them naked. That has all changed with the internet exposure; well even television and movies are showing more and more male nudity. Women today will have seen very big penises even by accident on the internet with all the spam and more.

So my question is for the straight small to average sized guys today. Now that women can easily see the size of some guys in everyday situations does that intimidate you? It would be rare even to go to a locker room setting and not realize that in today's age everyone knows what big and small is out there. Do you hesitate to get naked in those setting as well? Are you now embarrased to be seen naked, and what about when you are with a woman, does it worry you that she may have had several larger men before or even know by looking now when they see you naked they will know you are just average or smal below? It's a different era and I am curious about it being different now for guys. Please be honest.

It changes little for me, as I already realized long ago I don't stack up to others when it comes to attraction. I never spend time in locker rooms since I am an "in and out" kinda guy at the gym, eschewing the use of the facilities for the most part.

That is my point. Dating myself of course, but let's say 30 years ago, women were unlikely to see many men nude except their own direct relationships. Also, women were never anywhere as much into porn as guys. Guys went to the Adult bookstores, or theaters, it was not that typical for women. So, the penis or the size was more of a mystery. My wife never even knew there were uncircumised and circumcised men and that they would appear different. It was a different era. But, now as I originally posted that mystery is over and of course many sites including this one focus on the better endowed pics or video's etc. It is a status symbol now and readily available for everyone to know and see. I can’t be sure what those women experienced but I know that the first one and my ex wife all had guys larger than me. My measurements length wise are bone pressed and I have a large fat pad which can be a hindrance I suspect. I gain no pleasure from being humiliated and like I said I have no idea if my previous partners were into that. My current wife loves me regardless of my size but she has told me that it would be a plus if I was larger for physical satisfaction but I try to make up for what I lack for her size wise. I think all of our experiences are subjective just given all the interactions we are exposed to. Why be intimidated? Porn is entertainment. Entertainment paints everything in a light far different than reality. Because reality is boring. Odd is exciting. The irony is that porn actors are rarely over 7". VERY rarely.

Should guys fear dating because they don't look like the current male hunk actors? Should they avoid relationships because they don't live in a quirky urban neighborhood in a renovated $ 2.5M loft? Because they aren't super wealthy?

When I was younger (HS, college), I was always shy about locker rooms and would avoid them. This wasn't about penis shyness but about not being athletic/muscular and kind of a scrawny kid. The more I worked out and made gains, the less and less shy I would get. (These days I have a basement gym at home tho--too convenient!)

Shyness and body shyness can be hard to overcome but it is addressable and confidence is easy to build!
