Reading some of the posts about experiences at doctor's office made me think. Have you had any questionable encounters with your doctors or any medical professionals? Like them crossing the line or getting close? I had two such encounters.

About 20 years ago, I had a cyst on one of my testicles and saw a local urologist to check it. And he did check it without wearing gloves. I was young and it was my first time to have a doctor examine my penis and balls, so I didn't think it was just the way it is. But later I learned doctors should wear gloves.

Another encounter was about 5 years ago. I saw another urologist for inflammation in my prostate. The exam went on as expected. I was on all fours, the doctor inserted his lubed finger into my anus and examined. Then he actually wiped my ass with tissues. Not sure if it is acceptable practice but felt weird. Didn't mention anything then.

Does anyone have such stories?

I spent years terrified that I would come down with herpetic whitlow from doing a genital exam without gloves on. Herpetic whitlow is herpes of the finger/nail crease. Probably hurts like hell. The guy should have been wearing gloves, but as long as he washed his hands well afterwards, almost certainly no harm done. I always do prostate exams with the guy on his side rather than him on all fours with his ass in the air. MUCH less humiliating! Plus I can get my finger in deeper for a better exam. There are times when, as I like to say, "shit happens." It happens, you wipe it off, discretely, again in a manner that doesn't humiliate the patient. Now if he did a rectal WITHOUT gloves, well, that is a different matter entirely. From what you are describing, I don't think any lines were crossed. Let it go.

Thanks, Hairylegs. I always thought wearing gloves is actually for patients. I remember he did wash his hands, but after he touched my balls, not before.

He may have needed to be able to feel heat and texture of the cyst for a more accurate assessment.

I had a perianal abscess when I was 28. I didn't know what it was or what to expect when I went to see the Dr at Kaiser. I had my first prostate exam which was unexpected. I was bent over the exam table and the doctor asked me questions while he poked around asking questions about pain when all of a sudden his finger was up my butt. It made me stop talking and couldn't finish my sentence until he withdrew his finger.

It went downhill from there as he had me climb up onto the table, put my chest as flat as possible on the table and kneel. It was followed by a shot to numb the area before he lanced it. When it was lanced, the contents dripped down my testicles and scrotum onto the pads that were on the table between my legs. I stayed like that for what felt like an eternity while it drained. When it was done, the doctor wiped clean my balls, dick, and Anis before packing the wound. It was at the time the most embarrassing experience I had ever had. The feeling of having your ass in the air, cheeks spread, and your balls hanging there for all to see was very vulnerable.

I've never had a prostate exam, but if I have to I feel like the doctor should give a courtesy wipe afterwards. I think that would be more humiliating for him than for me, but I don't think its really humiliating. I think being on all fours, wiping the lube and whatever off my own ass after a man had his finger in it would be a lot more humiliating.

I have a varecocele. When it was first examined and diagnosed the doctor told that they used to call it "bag of worms." I get it, its a little funny, but not when you're getting the diagnosis for the first time. I would have preferred if he had kept the conversation a little more clinical and spared me the history lesson.

The same doctor made a comment on how low my testicles hang. He did say it could contribute to some discomfort I had and would make torsion more likely, but it was weird to hear from a doctor.

I don't think either of these things were truly inappropriate, but they made me feel weird at the time.

Never.
I had prostrate exam last week and before.
Never been on all fours.
Allways sideways with legs drawn up.
Allways professional.

Years ago, when I was maybe in my late twenties, I was at a walk-in facility, and had to get a shot. It was to be in the buttocks, and the nurse had me drop trou and lay on the exam table. That seemed weird, as any shots I'd received elsewhere were simply with me standing. The nurse walked to the door, opened it, and said something to people in the hall. A moment or two of silence, and as I didn't hear the door close I looked behind me to see two other women looking at me from the hallway, with smiles. When they saw me turn they scooted away and the nurse closed the door. She was smiling and said they the other two thought I had a cute butt.

I was pissed, embarrassed, you name it. I think she thought I'd be flattered. I said nothing. When I was leaving, I got the name of the administrators. The receptionist asked why, and I explained what had happened. The administrator called me a few hours later, apologized profusely and saying the nurse "would be dealt with accordingly". I never returned to find out whether she was still there.

I was a slow developer and needed to go to monthly visits for hormone shots and exams. Very embarrassing being examined each month. Exam started out with me only in my underwear but then they came off as he examined my balls and dick. At first a parent was in the room but after the first couple of years it was just me and the doctor. It got real when the doctor started handing me a Petri dish one month so he could send it away see if I was producing sperm and for sperm counts. I had to do that each month for about a year. He would leave the room while I jacked but a couple times he walked in on me beating my meat and talk to me as if I wasn't even doing it.
