and if all that antarctican ice originated from the time when this continent wasn't near the pole yet... but still in the southern hemisphere mid-latitudes?...
is this wouldn't explain the abundant snow falls due to the westerlies storms... and later the end of these snow falls once the tectonic drifting of this continent at last placed it out of those moist westerlies influence?...
in this case... all that ice would come from very old geological time... wouldn't it?...
