Dear Abby,

Thanks so much for the clarification on yawning...

Now I want to know why looking at the sun (or a bright light) can help bring on a sneeze?!

:wink::tongue:

If found a detailed scientific study on it but I guess you want the lite version:

Photic sneeze reflex - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I don't suffer from this "malfunction" and this is the first time I've heard of it. *Sneezes as he writes this* (I actually did!)

LOL -- you mean that people who use bright light to force out a slow-coming sneeze actually have a birth defect?:eek::eek::eek:

I thought EVERYONE could sneeze using bright light?!

Gosh -- I'm going to have a write a complaint to my manufacturer!

This has puzzled me before, you know when a sneeze gets stuck up your nose, when your nose is tickling but the sneeze isn't going anywhere someone told me to look at a bright light, they were amazed when it didn't make me sneeze, I was amazed that it made them sneeze. It's all explained now, he was a mutant :)

When you mix flour and water together, you get glue.

When you mix flour and water and eggs together you get cake.

Where does the glue go?

I'm sitting here TRYING to finish some stupid illustrations... and it's posts like these that keep bringing me back.

SP -- that's hilarious about the "mutant" (and thanks a LOT for confirming something I would have preferred to remain oblivious about!)

Just Asking -- good one! Very good!

OK, Abby -- do you have an answer for THAT? (Where'd the glue go?) :biggrin1::biggrin1:

actually you can't have cake without a leavening agent and a heat source...

but off the top of my head i'm saying the protein binds to the gluten somehow making it cakeable.

When you mix flour and water together you get glue, when you mix flour, water and eggs together you get cake, but have you ever tried to stick anything with it, it might well be glake that famous cross between glue and cake.

Where does the glue go?

Actually, you have to cook the flour, water and egg mix to get a cake. You don't cook the flour and water to get glue.

So really, you can make cake by adding eggs to glue if you want. Turns out glue is an ingredient in cake.

Which means that you can of course make cake out of horses.

When you were a kid and you wanted to stick stuff and you couldn't find glue didn't your mum tell you to make flour and water glue?

If men had tits would they truly stay in all day playing with them :)

Here's a question I've always wanted to know the real answer to: what causes that sense of deja vu? Everytime I experience, it freaks me out, because I can almost predict what's going to happen next, or what the person with me is going to say, etc. It's such an overwhelming feeling, that it's almost like being outside of your body.

What causes that?
