Il me semble que beaucoup d'Américains (généralement) n'aiment pas les Français mais la langue (pour moi) est musique.

ça c'est dommage à mon avis. Il y a beaucoup de gens en Europe qui parlent Anglais presque parfaitment maintenant.

Véridiquement je ne suis pas un francophone. Je suis un francophile.

Ma première langue (langue native) est la langue Angalis.

Funny, I could understand every post here. I am not French in anyway but I started learning probably 3 years ago. I dare not write in French since my writing is autrocious, as Castello found out in another thread.

That's because none of us are writing in native French. I suspect we are all using schoolboy stuff!

As I have a house there, and so need to deal with correspondance in French all the time (from junk mail right up to tax) - I can tell you, they use a different langauge over there!


As for the rosbif comments. We are called that because of the pink colour we go in the sun :frown1:

I know that's not the case in two posters here o0fred. dongalong knows his stuff ... and much of what's here is either experienced "schoolboy" as you call it or Québecois French which is a very different animal.

Perhaps you're referring to legalese? And then of course there's the way the language has dropped into slang over the last twenty-five years too.

J'aime bien l'expression "Rosbif" :biggrin1: ... est-ce que c'est comparable quand on dis "grenouille" en Anglais?
Je suis ne au centre de L'Angleterre!
Oui, rosbif est l'insult/expression donne aux Anglais pour decriver le couleur de leur peau apres quelques heures au soleil (rose comme la cuisson preferee des Francais du rosbif)

Les Anglais appellent les Francais "Frogs" depuis longtemps voici quelques possibilites des origines de cet apppelation
