As much as I loved wrestling when I was a kid, it got to be unbearable by 8th grade. I had to quit the team before the season ended. This is one instance where being bigger than average can be a huge disadvantage.

I wrestled for 3 years in high school and 4 in college (club-level). It is tough, I believe ya. But I really liked wrestling, and the looks I got and the jokes were made up with the 7 years of wrestling.

Singlets are definitely not made for big guys. Makes things interesting sometimes.

For me the contrary was true, being hung was an advantage. I think it psyched out alot of opponents being hung. Their concentration is distracted ;) score

Have to agree with scruf on this one. I wrestled from 7th grade all through high school and college, and it seemed that being a short guy with a big package brought good things. Just don't let people ruin something you love by what they say or think, or often time what you project on them as thinking. If you quit for those reasons you'll regret it for a long time.
