I would like to add context here, as I am from Mexico as well and I am about the same generation Rafa is. There was a time that many left thinking was very popular among low class population back in the 80s, and then we had a brand, BOY LONDON, with a similar design that became very popular. I am not saying that he is or is not but I just add context that makes sense to me. When I’ve heard interviews of him with other performers, he told a story that they were very poor at home, he got married very young, he has a kid, but then he went to study an architecture degree by his own, working (Government Universities in Mexico has no cost at all for students) and he then opened as a gay man. He says he is 100% gay and his kid is almost 18 yo now, he works as an architect in Cancun from time to time. He seems a very sweet and down to earth guy that I am sure he made a mistake of tattooing himself something he did not know what it was and it was just very similar to a popular brand in the 90s. Tattoo removal in Mexico is not a common practice nor a cheap one.
