Can diplomacy solve the crisis in the Gulf? – Inside Story

Published on Jun 12, 2017
It's been a week since one of the worst diplomatic disputes in the Gulf region began. And there have been developments almost every hour.

The Qatari foreign minister has been on a diplomatic tour in Europe. He was in London earlier on Monday then Paris to meet his counterparts.

President Donald Trump initially took to twitter to support the embargo, but then called the Emir of Qatar days later offering to mediate, only to criticise the Gulf nation at a News Conference on Friday.

But that same day, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, was urging the GCC countries to find a diplomatic solution.

What I've never heard anyone ask, let alone answer or explain, is why "the media" is so "liberal." If it's true that "the media" really wants Democrats to win elections and not Republicans, why is that? If it's true that nearly all journalists are liberals who vote Democratic, why is that? If it's true that most journalists, reporters, editors, newspaper and TV-network owners and executives, &c. are biased against the GOP, why is that?

What is it about liberalism that appeals to journalists? What is it about journalism (as a career/vocation) that appeals to liberals? Why do journalists tend to be liberal and not conservative? Why do liberals become journalists while conservatives don't?

"Why do you suppose that is?"

Seriously, has anyone ever asked a prominent conservative why "the media" is so "liberal," and so biased against him, people like him, and the party he votes for? Not why he thinks it is; why it is.

It's very important, I think, because in my experience and observation conservatives can't seem to answer it. They know that the news media is "liberal" and biased against them, that TLM and LMB exist, but they don't know why and apparently have never even asked themselves why.

Why haven't they asked themselves why?

Should you get a vote if you don't understand politics?

A Resolution Condemning White Supremacy Causes Chaos at the Southern Baptist Convention
At its annual meeting, the evangelical denomination initially declined to consider a statement of its opposition to the alt-right.
https://www.theatlantic.com/politic...-convention-alt-right-white-supremacy/530244/

Well at one time, one WOULDN'T have thought that in 2017 the repudiation of hate and racism would've caused such a quandary.

But then that was before the election of Obama, the increased use of racial dog whistle references in conservative thought and politics, Trump's campaign of hateful divisive rhetoric and scapegoating, and the resulting election of a demagogue who was swept into office by the apparent backlash of those enraged at having suffered the indignity of a black president, heaven forbid. (file under: "make America white again")

But to their CREDIT, at least they, at the SBC, sat down, engaged in conversation, reached a COMPROMISE, and agreed to a resolution that MOST could be happy with... that is, excepting people like Richard Spencer and that particular band of bigots, separatists, supremacists, racists, and other assorted deplorables... aka the "alt-right".
