Press Secretaries come and go. Always have, always will. To attempt to use it as a means to insult a President is laughable but to be expected from certain people

Again stormfront, shoot first then take aim. You completely miss the significance. The post wasn't about how long Carney lasted. The post was about the abuse he has has endured in his role as the whipping boy for absent Obama. (Wasn't this supposed to be the most transparent, accessible administration in history?). Carney was thrown under that bus one time too many, and apparently had enough. A loyal soldier, and couldn't take any more. Good for him.
Odd, you took exception to my post and pointed out (incorrectly) my attempt to insult a president is laughable, but yet you had no problem with including links about Bush. So, what does that say about you?

Jjz no one is buying the bull you are trying to sell. Since your first post in this forum you've taken every opportunity to slam Obama. It is just as easy to say that Bush's PSs quit because they got tired of having to cover for the mistakes of their boss but no one has made that claim. If you could manage to get some oxygen to your brain so that comprehension might be possible you'd understand that my post never bashed Bush just showed that PSs come and go and that nothing should be read into it. No where here is there any evidence of my defending him - rather, I am challenging you for your hypocritical accusation of me for using something as a means to insult the president, which is exactly what you did by posting the links on Bush. Are you so blind, or ignorant, that you don't realize you are doing the same with Bush, with your own links as exhibit A. Own it! You know exactly why you posted those links on Bush and no one is buying YOUR self righteous BS.

I'm sure you must have scored very poorly in reading comprehension or else you would have understood the last part of the post you responded to. I clearly stated that press secretaries come and go so that should not be any indication of discontent with their boss. You were the one who clearly attempted to make the resignation of a secretary an indictment of his boss. Do I need to post links about press secretaries of several past Presidents resigning in order to show you how idiotic your idea is?
This thread is a GREAT idea, Popyuu. Though my own MOST random, "top of my head" political thoughts probably wouldn't pass "muster"...
... as they'd too often involve the term "sob".
Thanks and if yours doesn't i doubt anyone elses could. I wasn't really all that serious when i made this thread. Just figured there should be a place to add random stuffs whenever people find it/feel it/think it. Wanted to add a little lightness to the politics section too but yeah that doesn't seem to be working out all that well. :biggrin1:

I know many here have adopted the belief that President Obama is in a "damned if he does, damned if he doesn't" scenario in all of his actions, but this prisoner release made me question that.
Would ANYBODY have bitched and moaned had Obama done nothing here? Hell, would anybody even had known about it? I can only speak for myself, and I certainly would have been none the wiser.
Now, IF the legality argument is legit, does the President face any potential punishment? Would there be an objective measure, or would it get debated in the Congress until it died somewhere based on partisanship, becoming yet another "witch hunt?"
Unrelated to the intelligence/legality of the move, it doesn't make sense to me...last time I checked, 5 > 1, and trading POW's ain't golf.
