dear Australia

i recall distinctly,on at least 3 occasions
various commentators/television presenters,whom i deeply respect,on SKY TV
emphatically state,without compunction

'we are doing better than New Zealand'
regarding,handling CV
as far as i know not 1 Kiwi was silly enough to say that
USA boastful attitude as far as i was concerned at the time
Trans Tasma rivalry for sport yes
most other things,i dont think so

look,@ your Victoria now, your other states over the last few months Aus
to me,nothing to be proud of
extended restrictions ror weeks/months too long

i am thinking the larger a country, the more pigheaded arrogance by supposed leaders of people, who adopt/project a self righteous attitude
and try to project there will on others
look at the USA/UK

Coronavirus: German military training sniffer dogs
Sniffer dogs can detect explosives and drugs, but can they also detect COVID-19? The German military and a veterinary university foundation are working with various breeds of sniffer dogs to find out.

German military sniffer dogs are being trained to detect coronavirus infections in human saliva as part of a joint study between the Bundeswehr, the country's armed forces, and the University of Veterinary Medicine Hanover, Foundation (TiHo).

As part of the project, a group of 10 canines made up of sheep dogs, spaniels and retrievers are sniffing samples of infected people.

followed Australia's handling of CV perhaps more than ours
esp
when i noticed Sky tv presenters stating at least 3 times in as many weeks

'we are doing better than NZ'

made me angry
who cares/country to country,work to-gether you buggers
all seeking glory

pleasing to note there federal govt has not made masks mandatory
expecting its 25 millioin pop to use discretion, hopefully conforming
good change considering
6 months on they
very slowly unlocked there country
i blame the individual state premiers for power hungry slack attitude, dicftating to the people

Bleak financial outlook for Australian PhDs
A survey of PhD students in Australia suggests that many are facing dire financial situations in the wake of the pandemic. Of the 1,020 students at the University of Sydney who responded to the survey, three-quarters anticipate financial hardship, and 45% expect to be forced to suspend or withdraw from their studies in the next six months owing to lack of funds. Almost one-fifth of the respondents said they can’t afford necessities such as medicines and utilities bills, or expect to face those financial struggles within six months.

Hopes of a steady path back towards normality have been replaced by fears we're in for exactly the sort of stop-start scenario the Prime Minister said we couldn't allow, writes David Speers.

South Africa was long warned of a coronavirus 'storm'. Now it has hit
Named by the World Bank as the most unequal place on earth, South Africa has had old wounds ripped open by the coronavirus, with some experts suggesting the lockdown highlighted how urban areas are still divided along racial lines.
