ain't it remarkable how they can vary over a 100-point spectrum of "progressiveness", yet they all somehow remain equally useless.

Coburn's 68? I'd hate to see 69+'s records. Coburn's famous for, among other things, advocating forced sterilization.

Although I do like the image of rampant high school lesbianism.

I can't believe my man Russ Feingold's all the way down at #19. Maybe he lost points for supporting what's-his-face who Bush nominated to the supreme court.

AND that there are 25 senators more conservative than Santorum -- yikes!

Yes, I guess they're all useless but I find the list interesting anyway.

    So what is "progressiveness"?

Websters': 1) moving forward, advancing. 2) proceeding in steps 3) promoting or favoring political or social reform; liberal.

So, I guess we're supposed to be amazed that democrats are progressive?

I don't know what data this ranking is based on, but Pete Domenici (R-NM) is #60? What a load of crap. Top ten(?) (bottom ten?) I would believe, but #60...if you live here you would not buy this info.

The line in the sand is quite clear between #45 and #46. 9.44 percent isn't a whole lot.

progressive usually implies more than the traditional democratic left. it usually only applies to complete soacial libetines (which i am) and socialists (which i am not).
