I gave myself a 9 out of 10, based on my life experience. I'm pretty darn excellent at math, but the upper throes of calculus began to kick my ass.

Yup, this is me. I was top of my class at math until calculus, then it just all went to shit. Fuck calc.

I still got a 4 on the higher-level AP Calc exam though xP

I think as long as you understand the basics of math as an infinite series of solutions of certain differential equations, allowing their extension to arbitrary positive and negative values and even to complex numbers you can get on in life just fine.
Wha.......? I was going to post to this thread until I read this. Walking away to find my slide rule of life. :frown1:

I gave myself 9/10 in the poll, but the true value is really irrational.

Since this thread might attract some maths-savvy posters, here's a really geeky site to peruse:
SB Crafts - Math Clocks

If you get the group and number theory stuff you should count yourself a 9.999.../10.

Me, too. I teach HS maths, mostly algebra and have also done geometry, but in college as a student multivariate calculus was my Waterloo. :frown1:

This time of year, it's mince pie!

When I was a child, a friend of my mother's would bake some every Christmas for her family and for ours (and others too, I imagine). Store-bought ones simply do not compare - and I have tried many, many, many different brands over the years.

Would have to say i'm about a 2 on the mathter scale. Only because my memory is bad. Which is about the most if not only important skill needed when it comes to mathematics.
