She fought hard for minority groups and the gay community. She truly believed in goodness. She had real wisdom.
She was a lovely lady. I am saddened by her death.
I know my fear may be irrational, but I think the Supreme Court could become a Court of the Religious Right. But I've been told that the Supreme Court can never go strongly against the will of the American power - it just can't be done without tragic consequences. And the Justices know this well when interpreting the law. They can make inroads in giving more power to conservative ideas in rulings, but to what extent can they do this to an extreme? Possible on paper, but not in reality. There is no doubt about that. But they must always stay in the confines of the general will of the American public. Otherwise, there will be mayhem on the streets. But, conservative-majority court is still dangerous to some degree, and far from being in the best interest of the American people.
Amy Barrett, a staunch conservative Catholic, is likely to take her place.
If Ted Cruz gets on SCOTUS, I'm leaving America.
