    Here is another piece of trivia about legibility for western readers.

    When scanning word shapes the upper half is most recognizable. For example cover the lower half of a display headline (one with upper and lowercase letters) on a newspaper and you will likely be able to read it with no trouble. Cover the top half and it becomes much more cryptic.
