Great idea... let's make it reality.
I guess after the Pope had this idea first, he will start first and convince the evangelicals and orthodox to create one Christian church.
Then he will find an agreement with every other monotheistic religion and finally he will find a compromise with every other religion.

I wonder how a religion will look like that unites a monotheistic God with buddhism, voodoo and wickers

A world government is just as unrealistic. There are so many different interests... it's even hard for a single culture are to create a single government, if interests were defended on a way smaller scale for centuries.
