This is hard to type in my dragon suit, because I'm reading The Hobbit when Bilbo finds Smaug's weak spot, but here goes... That there is a pencil-neck geek son.

Late to the party again -- I scored 37.82288% - Major Geek

I think that there should have been some "balancing questions" like to even out the scores.

Like for men:
Can you weld?
Can you bench press more than you weigh?

Or for women:
Can you put on makeup without help?
That doesn't look like movie/TV/comic character?

And why the fuck is it that women get asked about make-up and men get asked about welding? A fair few ladies don't wear make-up. I may have a uterus but I've taken a class on metal working, fencing, and various other topics.

"without help" implying nerd-girls don't exactly enthuse the typical beauty regiment favored by more mainstream girls.

the follow up "that doesn't look like a movie/TV/comic character" holds true for me. i can do borg, cenobite, darth maul, day of the dead skull, the crow... cover girl has proven problematic.

and the welding question.. i am guessing most nerds own the ass on soldering. any not so much mig/stick. same with weight lifting. a yes to benching ya bizzaro twin would be damnation in nerdville.

Mr. Fullkilt was pointing out nerds/geeks/such don't roll with gender expectations.

I don't see how welding would belong on a Geek survey anyhow. Unless you have a fetish over how many volts you use when MIG welding or enjoy arguing the merits of different wave forms when TIG welding... it's pretty much just a badass skill. Playing with molten metal and fire :mischievous:

/dirty welder speak: "Want to play with my 2% thoriated rod?" lol

I wanna create a REAL geeks and nerds social group. I wanna meet all the real nerds and geeks like myself here on LPSG. And I don't mean just a group CALLED "The Real Geeks and Nerds group" but a group with REAL geeks and nerds in it. And I want there to be some sort of crazy ass 10-20 question test of nerd/geek knowledge you have to pass for admittance. Anybody down to join? :biggrin1:

I'm down to join.
