REAL penis size...

I'm curious what members (men and women) of the lpsg think about the frequency of "size exaggeration" and the general public's knowledge of it.

According to all of the scientific data I&#39;ve read, a man with a 7" long penis is larger than 90% of the population, a man with an 8" penis is larger than 99% of the population, and a man with 9" or more is almost un-heard-of (1 in <1000).

It makes sense that there would be numerous hung guys on lpsg because the internet reaches millions of people throughout the world. It also makes sense that the few hung guys in the world would be attracted to this type of site...I know that I wouldn&#39;t be here if I wasn&#39;t well-endowed. So I don&#39;t necessarily doubt the claims of men on lpsg.

However, in my everyday life I hear guys refer to their 7" dick. Or I hear women talk about a particular porn star and comment that he&#39;s 12". In reality, I&#39;ve seen the guy&#39;s " 7-inch-dick" because he&#39;s my friend, and he&#39;s nowhere even close. And I&#39;ve watched the porno with the guy and his 12-inches, and though he&#39;s large, I can tell that I&#39;m as big or bigger (based on how he holds it with his hands, how condoms fit, etc.) and he&#39;s in the 8-9 range (which makes sense according to the above-referenced data).

Honestly, I even have women exaggerate my size and fluff it up an inch or so (not that I&#39;m complaining).

So I have some questions for all the members: Women, do you really know how to tell a guy&#39;s size, and what do you honestly believe is small, average, large?

Men, what do you think is average. And for the gay members, do gay men exaggerate size more because of the apparent "size queen" culture of the homosexual community.

I&#39;m not trying to offend anyone, I just want to hear some feedback from my knowledgeable hung brothers and the females who love big dicks. ^_^

Most of the studies that I have read support your statistical summary thirdlegmeat though I have yet to come across a study/survey that I consider to be definitive usually because the sampling is flawed or the measurement process is somewhat less that scientific.
Many studies are based on self measurement and therefore probably somewhat inflated. The condom manufacturer&#39;s study in Cancun (300 college guys on break)is one of the few in which professionals measured but participation was voluntary and I doubt too many guys sporting shorties stampeded to the front of the line to be measured.
I think "averages" suggesting 6 inches are skewed as well.
If you have played school sports, lived in dorms, been in the forces, or go to gyms, most guys fall short of I think even 6 inches erect. Studies suggesting an average of 5 and a bit inches get my vote.
There is another factor that comes in to the equation and that is girth. A 5 1/2 inch penis with a girth of 5 1/2 " looks &#39;big&#39; and many probably would describe it as atleast 7 inches. A real 7 incher then slides up the scale and attach it to a sloghly built person and it must be atleast 9" long.
A lot of porn fiction becomes more interesting if the male reveals an 8" penis than if he is described as waving his 4" erection around. Your comment about many porn stars is right on the mark and despite camera angles etc. you know that your say 8" looks a lot like their 10 and 12s
A lot of people really have no concept of what say 8 " really is but it sounds good.
All this to say yes there are a good number of hung guys around but that doesnt refer only to length and that good number is still only a minimal percentage of the overall male population.

dcbulgefreak: another part of this could be incorrect measuring. i knew a guy once who bragged about his 9.5", but he took that reading from the bottom side of his dick where it met his balls, to the tip. WRONG. you measure from the top side of mister happy from the base, not jamming the ruler into your abdomen, and measure from there to the tip.

i would not say that is truly accurate....it is rare but not that rare. As i have always said before on the internet every man says he is huge (this causes some average guys to believe them and worry about themselves) and every women has been with at least 1 or more guys that are 12" 10" 9". The number of men that say their size and the women that say what size they have been with greatly contradicts every study. In reality the guys are not and the women have never been with a guy that is hung. I have to admit it is funny seeing some guys on other MBs post about how they are hung like a demon and see women make stories up about how the guy they slept with yesterday that was 10" and 1 billion inches wide LOL This has got to be the only real site (and great site)

I think 2 factors are at work here: 1. Guys tend to lie/exaggerate when reporting their own size. 2. People--women and men--who are not used to seeing a large penis on a daily basis will tend to greatly overestimate the size when they do see one. This is especially true with video.

2 examples: Once in college I was watching a porno featuring Peter North with a group of friends (sorry--we all stayed fully clothed and did not jack off together--not a juicy story here). The other guys kept going on about how "gigantic" Peter North is. I have seen a photo of P.N. where he was measuring his penis with a tape measure and it is just (barely) 8" long--big, but not the footlong those guys imagined. Same thing with the Pamela/Tommy Lee video. When that was going around, I kept hearing about Tommy&#39;s "huge footlong." When I finally saw the video myself, I realized that, yes, he is on the large side, but again more like the 8-9" range than a "foot."

Makes me think that if I ever put my 11 incher in porn people would give me credit for 16 inches&#33;

Statistical studies are good for predicting means and standard deviations, but they almost always fail to adequately measure the extremes.

Suppose your sample size were 300 men. It&#39;s likely that *none* of those men would have 11" penises, but this would mean that the study collected *no* data about penises that large, so the study could draw no results.

On the other hand, suppose that one of them did have an 11" penis. Then -- based on their sample only -- 1 penis in 300 is 11" long, but that&#39;s an overestimate of their frequency in the general population.

Unfortunately -- in a case like this, there&#39;s no in-between. Either the sample will include no penises of a sufficiently rare size -- resulting in an underrepresentation, or it will include one or more, and for a sample that small, even one is an overrepresentation.

According to The UN 190 million people have access to the internet. Take into account this is male AND female - therefore there is 95 million men on the net.
1% of this &#39;population&#39; is <950000 men. This is therefore the apparent number of men who have access to the internet that have penises longer than 9".

Hence, at a guess, there is probably the best part of around 750000 men surfing the net with large packages.

BUT

On a scale:

A <8" penis = 90% = 85,500,000 men
A 8-9" penis = 9% = 8,550,000 men
A 9-10" penis = 0.9% (~1%) = 855,000 men (see where I&#39;m going?)
A 10-11" penis = 0.09% = 85,500 men
A 11-12" penis = 0.009% = 8,550 men
A 12-13" penis = 0.0009% = 855 men
A 13-14" penis = 0.00009% = 85 men
A 14-15" penis = 0.000009% = 8-9 men

This breakdown is assuming a log scale (or bell curve if u want to do it graphically - no puns please). The chances are it&#39;s even less people than this for each part...

So to answer the question - yes it is possible that those claiming up to 14" are telling the truth, as may the ones up to 15" (as long as there&#39;s only 8 or 9 of them here). However, it is VERY unlikely that all supersized fellas ARE on this site - I know of a few others I have spoken to via email over the last few years who are getting towards the large large sizes (12/13/14") who don&#39;t even know of the site or have no interest in joining it.

As for me - there&#39;s apparently another 84 somewhere across the world on the net with similar appendages - whether it is true of not - I couldn&#39;t say - all I know that is I have what I have.

Or to look at it another way, in my metropolitan area of 250,000 people, there are 112 men who fall into the same 10-11" range as me.

rainsfletcher: This has been talked about quite a bit. But what is interesting to me, is that I don&#39;t think Tommy is even 8 inches&#33; I too expected something John Holmesian. And Pamela is not exactly freaking out having him inside her. If he was really huge, I would expect her to actually react to it. I don&#39;t mean to imply that he&#39;s small or even average, but he seems like he&#39;d be on the small side of this board&#39;s members. And what about the guy from the Paris Hilton tape? He didn&#39;t seem huge either......Larger than average, but these guys are not huge.

And by the way, I thought the same thing about Peter North & Tommy Lee. A funny example of how women exaggerate is with one girl I slept with and her comments.

She thought that I was 10", and of course I wasn&#39;t going to argue with her. One time we were hanging out with her girlfriends and they started talking about a Ron Jeremy porn they saw. The girl I had once slept with commented that he was 12". I promptly replied that this was BS and that he was only 9-10". Meanwhile I had forgotten that she believed I was in the 9-10" range (for the record, I&#39;m 8-9" range...usually around 8.5".). Hotboila, I am intersted in that topic too. I have often wondered if gay men are bigger. Not being a gay man, I have no idea, but gay men in porn tend to be bigger, from what I&#39;ve seen, as well as more attractive. Another way to ask the question is- are hung guys more likely to be gay? Is it possible that growing up with a large penis would arouse penis interest in a man? Seems to make sense to me, as well as answering MY question of why so many str8 men seem smaller.

I hear a lot of women comment about how sexy gay men are. It really makes me wonder whether or not they find them sexier because they are gay, or whether feminine guys are more attractive to women... Would these same gay men be as sexy if they looked exactly the same way, but were just straight instead of homosexual? Is this psychological issue? Does one tend to desire what one can&#39;t have? All interesting questions to ask.

In regards to asking whether or not well hung men are usually gay because being larger leads to a fascination of the penis... that&#39;s like asking whether or not a vast majority of large breasted women are lesbians because being larger causes them to pay attention to breasts and the female body. I am pretty well hung (about 10 inches) and I am straight. Sure, the penis fascinates me, and at times I like looking at pictures of other well hung men to compare to my size. However, this doesn&#39;t mean I would enjoy having sex with them. Maybe it is coincidental that a lot of gay men happen to be well hung. Maybe a lot of gay men actually aren&#39;t well hung. But, I don&#39;t think having a large penis is an indicator of sexuality.
