ML - yeah, the whole odd jobs/jill of all trades circuits have worked very very well for me in the past. Unfortunately, no one's hiring anyone for much of anything these days.

Temp agencies might provide the path to least resistance. The plus side of it, they can get you into a job within hours, they have a stockpile of employers listed, so they know who might be in need of something more permanent. You can get experience in the field or with a specific employer that you may want a future with ? Get the foot in the door, there might be a networking opportunity ?

Home health care's median hourly wage is $9.11 an hour. That's pretty damn bad. Sure it's a growing field but then so is every other shitty no-pay job out there.

Jason - yeah, caregivers are comically underpaid for the intense work they do. $9/hr > $0/hr, though - and I'm serious when I say I'll take anything right now. I can live on $1000/mo; I've lived on much less before.
