I'm wondering if anyone knows of good freeware for recording streaming audio from an internet site.

I found a great site that plays awesome music and I'd like to convert some of it to mp3/wma format so I can listen to it on my mp3 player (Creative Zen Vision: M).

    Thanks for the help!

I use StreamRipper for Winamp. Works great.

I'll try that - thanks. Does it record straight from the internet without inserting a stupid tone?

Any suggestions for Windows Media Player?

I use Audacity for any sound editing and recording that I do. It will record from any source, including the output stream of an audio player like Winamp.

    Plus, it's free. :biggrin1:

Burns1de - your advice was gold! I downloaded WinAmp and then Streamripper and it works like a champ. It even separates the individual songs in the stream. If I ever decide to change my 0%, maybe our 1% can get together and make 2%...

Vince - the site is BEIRUT NIGHTS LEBANON RADIO EURODANCE MEDITERRANEAN TRANCE ARABIC FRENCH ARMENIAN ITALO DISCO GREEK TURKISH RUSSIAN it's mostly dance style music (euro, mediterranean, middle eastern, etc).

HG - thanks for the advice - I initially had downloaded Audacity, but I was having a retaded episode (of which I seem to be having more and more of...) and couldn't figure it out before getting frustrated and removing it from my computer.
