One of the reasons why I love reading the comments section on blogs is because of all the great information you can get before it all becomes common knowledge.

A case in point: this afternoon I read a post from Crooks & Liars about the founder of RedState.org and an especially dreadful tweet he sent regarding the retirement of Justice Souter:
The nation loses the only goat fucking child molester to ever serve on the Supreme Court in David Souter's retirement.

About ten or fifteen comments down, someone posted a reference to a movie scheduled for release in 2010 (just in time for the mid-terms) called Red State. Out of curiosity, I googled it and found this IMBd listing:

A horror film in which a group of misfits encounter fundamentalism gone to the extreme in Middle America.

:biggrin1::biggrin1::biggrin1::biggrin1::biggrin1:

Although horror is not my cinematic genre of preference, this is one film I will gladly suffer the uncomfortable chairs in a movie theater to see.

I enjoyed Smith's film Dogma, the satire was really on point, so if he can meet the same standard for this film, I'll gladly pay to see it.
Smith listing the genre as "horror" is a good omen in my book. :biggrin:

If it can do that without completely misrepresenting the red states I'll be impressed. I'm sure the sequel "Blue State" will get critics and audiences all up in arms about misrepresenting liberals.

Of course it's not gonna be balanced, it's gonna be over-the-top. Who goes to horror movies for their political correctness, anyway?

And since when are you so bullish on the Fairness Doctrine? I've heard that any attempt to offer balancing, alternate viewpoints in equal time would kill talk radio.

Oh I hate the notion of a Fairness Doctrine. Disgusting proposition. People should be able to say and program what they want. I don't want the government imposing "fairness" on Rush nor the DailyKos

I was completely joking. I know it's not gonna be anything close to real or representative, it's a horror movie. Besides "Blue State" would be a terrible movie. A bunch of christians getting their souls sucked out by godless NYC'ers? Boring.

OF course, there is the guy who is running (ahem as a republican) for Governor of Georgia, who admitted to fucking a mule. But, he is a 'real American'.
