This. You'd probably see a slight change in fat pad size if you lost weight overall, but I don't think you'd see a dramatic change if you only have 10-15 pounds to lose. And there's no such thing as targeted weight loss.

Citr and subgirrl have it right. There is no such thing as targeted weight-loss or "spot fat reduction". Your body decides where to store fat and where to take it from in its own way. The only thing you can do is lose weight overall by taking in fewer calories, burning more of them and keeping your metabolism high with regular exercise, spreading your meals out through the whole day to avoid fasting and making sure to always have a big breakfast.

The comment about gaining length for weight loss applies only to guys who are overweight, and you don't actually get a longer dick, of course. The leaner you are, the better you show what you actually have, just like when you lose weight off your stomach enough, you actually can start to show some ab muscles. They were there before but hidden.

My experience on the fat pad thing, and this is a concern for me just like the OP (and we're evidently hung about the same), is simply that with weight loss overall you lose some fat pad. I know exactly what you mean about wanting to show what you actually have AND USE it, too. I've been losing weight and have dropped 20-25 lbs, and I can definitely see a difference in the mirror. I plan to lose 25 more, which will get me to my ideal weight, and then I want to get leaner (i.e. drop body fat percentage), which is harder for me than losing weight in general.

Drinking lots of water makes a big difference for me in weight loss and in fat loss, too. So if you're not drinking AT LEAST 8 glasses of water per day, then up it. Seems like that and calorie counting work best for me.

BTW, you can also trim the pubes some, which gives more usable length and more visible length. My wife likes that I do that as she feels smooth skin against her clit rather than scratchy pubes. I shave along the base, then trim the pubes, and she definitely likes that better than just the natural look.

If you need to drop 10 or 15 pounds, now is the time to do it, man. If you get another 1/2" or so to play with, all the better. Go for it!

Lost a good part of the fat pad when I lost about 30 pounds - did it by exercise and watching my calorie intake - I am over 6 ft and went from close to 230 - 200 - took about 6 months - not only did I loose the fat pad but I dropped a waiste size and had to purchase new pants, jeans, and shorts. I am still trying to loose more - would like to be between 180 - 190.

I have said before that I don't think losing weight gives you any extra size. I lost 85 lbs and am still 7x5.5. Either I am very unlucky (possible), or people just can't measure right. Having extra fat could prevent people from measuring right, but all their dick is there. Your dick doesn't get any bigger if you shrink your belly -- but it can LOOK bigger.

I remember seeing Dr. Oz one time and he said 35 inches usually led to about an inch. *shrug* I think it's one of those things that just depends on the person and how you carry your weight.

Well, if it makes you feel better, I am self-conscious about my mons veneris. It's very fat so I am very self-conscious in bathing suits. I try to choose ones that have little skirt. I'm also careful not to wear dresses or skirts that are too tight because that bump in front is noticeable.

Me too! I'm not overweight (maybe 10 lbs), but my mons has always seemed more prominent than 'normal'.

I'm hoping that more exercise (a lot of bike riding) will help reduce it somewhat.

I did a similar thread about a year ago & got the same advice-cardio-cardio-cardio.

And they were right.

Lost about 16lbs of fat & that fatpad has almost disapeared. Put quite a few pounds back on but they are pure muscle-the results of my bodybuilding.

Find the exercise you love to do the most. For me it is biking. I bike just about every morning. If you actually love doing the exercise, you are way more likely to stick with it. Sometimes I wake up and I am not really in the mode for a bike ride, but it is just part of my routine. By the time I get my biking shorts on, I feel more like biking. By the time I am at the end of the block I am ready to go.

Same with diet. Figure out what you like to eat that is low in calories. Just make it your regular diet.

What not to do? Exercise just because you want to loose weight. It will never last.
Go on a strict diet to loose weight. It will never last.

Just my opinion. It is easier to keep weight off than to have to loose it. My waist size is exactly the same as when I was in high school. My weight has never fluctuated more than 5 pounds. All my siblings are way over weight.
