When referring to a penis, what noun do you prefer to use?

I usually say cock, because I think dick is somehow not as descriptive, and maybe even slightly demeaning to the organ in question. I'm not sure why. Perhaps because dick is also often used as an insult (in the US), but cock is rarely an insult. Cock also sounds more powerful and purposeful to me.

What nouns do you hate to hear?

I hate the ridiculous-sounding crude names that might have been pulled straight from a porn mag, like fuckstick and meatpole. Penis is too clinical. Todger is too flippant.

What do you think?

lol...I'm embarassed to post this but....growing up, my parents always called my cock a 'peetum' what ever the fuck that is supposed to be. when I was 16 or 17, my dad and I were talking about our cocks for some reason or another, and he refered to his as 'peetum' and I said to him 'dad, stop calling it that....call it a cock, dick, penis, whatever, but please don't call it peetum, that's stupid and embarassing." needless to say, he's never refered to a penis as a peetum again....not that he has ever really talked to me about sex, puberity/adolescents, or anything else that even remotely pertained to sex or sexuality....sorry thats a sore spot for me...

Meat would seem to be when you're wanting to be funnier?

For some reason I really hate hearing the expression "junk". Maybe cuz it's NOT junk at all....I agree "cock" is probably the best all-round sexiest term to use, (and it's true "dick" can be used as a slur) but every now and then, there can be a good dirty school-yard jolt to using the word "dick", if only for variety. "Prick" definitely always seems a slur. "Rod" can be ok, but I agree it can be unintentionally funny to use terms that sound like bad porn.....ya gotta be able to carry it off.....like so much in life

Penis or cock or dick or phallus or organ or member or prick or....(a peculiarly Australian) "old fella". LOL

Must be a bit clinical too, Cinnamon. :)
