As I get older it seems that more and more conversations revolve around regrets. So, I have decided to ask "What are your regrets?"

A regret can be a missed opportunity, a chance you let slip by, or it could be something that caused shame or hurt for you or someone else.

Because most people here are more interested in sex than anything else i will give some regrets that revolve around that topic.

The first was when i was in college. I had just moved out of the dorms and into an apartment by myself, so i was still young, maybe 20 or so. My upstairs neighbor asked if I wanted to have a threesome with her and one of her friends. I said no and I am still not sure if i regret that decision. First, I was in a relationship, cheating is not how I was raised. Second, she was older (remember i was 20 she might have been 30 and that was massive, I certainly regret not knowing how amazing older women can be, even now I meet sexy people my age and older). She also had a child, way too awkward at the time for me. She was also drunk (she had come home after an evening out). Again, i wasn't raised that way. Certainly it could have been fun, but I know that my fantasy of what might have been is probably far more exciting than what would have happened.

The second was a chance to have sex with a porn star. Again, i was in a relationship so the opportunity was passed on.

I don't think there is much that I feel shame about. I know for sure the first time I masturbated I felt shame but i quickly got over that. I just wish back then people were more open about masturbation and felt more open and free to talk about it. Seems so silly now to think about how taboo it was.

mark twain said of worry and regret:
I am an old man and have known a great many troubles, but most of them never happened. Worrying is like paying a debt you don't owe. I have spent most of my life worrying about things that have never happened.

I'm a little weird for this site, as I seem to age myself with my views from time to time.
I am very impressed - Trent Postal - that you didn't lean toward the cheating opportunities
when offered because you were in a relationship at the time. Bravo to you.
There is absolutely nothing worst that cheating on someone. It breaks their most precious
inner selves and makes everything disposable.
When someone is ready to move on, be honest, tell your partner it is working any more,
break up, and then hook up. Don't destroy someone self confidence and trust!
Good job Trent!

Regrets, I've had a few
but then again, too few to mention...

Interesting question, thanks. I too passed up a threesome which I always regretted. The circumstances and timing were just not the best.
Outside the bedroom I regret working to much and not taking time for myself and family. I have since addressed that and now have a more “normal” life. Thanks again
