Well I think that water is brackish semi salty water...

Honestly, looking at the landscape, especially the background, I really don't think it's a "swamp" at all. It looks like a tidal estuary of a type found all over Cape Cod, where the water is indeed a briny and brackish mix of water washed in from the tide mixed with a limited amount of fresh water, probably from a spring.

During extreme low tides, especially when the fresh water's not running enough, those place smell like the devil's own cesspool.

I hate to say it, but I watched rivermonsters on animal planet. I saw an episode on sharks living in rivers. It is quite possible and very scary if you live near the ocean.

Looks real to me. You'd need a team of CGI artists to fake that and even then you'd be able to tell. That right there is the reason I don't like to swim in water where I can't see the bottom.

Yes creating a CGI shark would be hard, but to me a more plausible explanation is that it's a shark in a tank exhibit and the background is CGI'd in.
