The latest scandal involving a darling of Republicans and, by extension, God, reminds me of the Republican Holy Bible that I became aware of in recent elections.

God has inspired a new version of the Holy Bible. It has only two instructions. You must be dogged in your obligations to (1) outlaw abortion and (2) prevent gay people from having any rights.

It is okay to engage in those activities yourself. All that God requires you to do is oppose rights for anybody else.

You may be right.

There are people who insist that every rule in the Bible is binding and should be followed without interpretation. Here's one that I think those people should be forced to obey.

A rule established way back in Genesis requires a man to impregnate his deceased brother's widow if the deceased brother has died childless, apparently regardless of the surviving brother's marital status. That rule is referred to several times in the OT and even mentioned in the NT. I see no way for extreme literalists to wiggle their way out of it.

That fact is that everyone picks and chooses to determine which Biblical rules are binding, including the extreme literalists who, while picking and choosing themselves, deny that they are doing so and deny the right of others to do so. There is a word to describe them; I can't seem to recall what it is, but it begins with "hipo."

Like Margaret Thatcher said " socialism is great until you run out of all the peoples money". Name one place that socialism has worked and it would be nothing but a great big lie. The greatest place on earth is The good ole USA, that believes in capitalism unhindered by progressive socialism. We need to go to flat tax and abolish the IRS. You cant keep taking from the productive and give to the unproductive, it takes away the incentive to work. What this country needs the most is for its populace to be rugged individualists.

Many of the founding fathers were deists, not Christians. That means that they believed in God, but did not accept orthodox Christian beliefs.

Moreover, contrary to what you apparently believe, Christianity is not monolithic; it includes a considerably diversity of belief. Some Christians profess to believe that the Bible in its entirity is the exact word of God; others believe that while much of it was inspired by God, not all of it reflects the word of God.

If you want to see how Christian opinion has changed through the centuries, I suggest that you read book on the subject. I suggest that you also read the "Confessions of St. Augustine of Hippo," you can find it on the Internet.

And just where did you get the idea that Got hates babies? That is truly bizarre and I doubt that you will find anyone who agrees with you on that.

It seems that you believe that the entire Bible should be followed. Therefore, I assume that you believe that a law given in Genesis regarding the duty of a man to his deceased brother is binding, i.e., that if your brother dies childless, you are, regardless of your own marital status, required to impregnate your brother's widow and raise the child in the name of your deceased brother.

So, there are four places I can name that are in the Americas where you can move to and become a millionaire without even waiting for your children to achieve that status. And they are all democracies. Each has it's own set of political problems, but not one of them is interfering with becoming as individually wealthy as possible. In addition, they all have pretty much the same freedoms as delineated in the Bill of Rights and the US Constitution (except the right to bare arms).

And if you're referring to "the good ole USA"[sic] you must be part Mexican. I'm part Mexican. But we spell ole as olé. And it doesn't mean the same thing.
