The latest scandal involving a darling of Republicans and, by extension, God, reminds me of the Republican Holy Bible that I became aware of in recent elections.

God has inspired a new version of the Holy Bible. It has only two instructions. You must be dogged in your obligations to (1) outlaw abortion and (2) prevent gay people from having any rights.

It is okay to engage in those activities yourself. All that God requires you to do is oppose rights for anybody else.

    You may be right.

There are people who insist that every rule in the Bible is binding and should be followed without interpretation. Here's one that I think those people should be forced to obey.

A rule established way back in Genesis requires a man to impregnate his deceased brother's widow if the deceased brother has died childless, apparently regardless of the surviving brother's marital status. That rule is referred to several times in the OT and even mentioned in the NT. I see no way for extreme literalists to wiggle their way out of it.

That fact is that everyone picks and chooses to determine which Biblical rules are binding, including the extreme literalists who, while picking and choosing themselves, deny that they are doing so and deny the right of others to do so. There is a word to describe them; I can't seem to recall what it is, but it begins with "hipo."

Aw stinking liberals always trying to put out their lies and propaganda. The top 2% pay over 48% of the taxes coming in the federal and state governments. Lots of gay Republicans, have ever heard of the Lincoln Club, we dont care what anyone does in their bedroom. I believe there should be no gay marriage but something like a civil union so they can maintain legal rights. as far as a abortion is should not be a political issue, I know that does not sound like some republicans but what a woman does with her body is here biz. Iam a conservative libertarian tea party republican

Whats the sad part about liberals, they dont understand that liberalism, socialism has failed every where it has been tried. Like Margaret Thatcher said " socialism is great until you run out of all the peoples money". Name one place that socialism has worked and it would be nothing but a great big lie. The greatest place on earth is The good ole USA, that believes in capitalism unhindered by progressive socialism. We need to go to flat tax and abolish the IRS. You cant keep taking from the productive and give to the unproductive, it takes away the incentive to work. What this country needs the most is for its populace to be rugged individualists.

Why is this poster allowed to continue with his ignorant, disruptive, completely off-topic ideological rants?

p.s. Sweden, for one. "Great big lie"?

    p.p.s. "Log Cabin Club".

Say what you hippies want, but my country (America!!!!!) was founded by Chrsitians and its a CHRISTIAN NATION!!! That means we don't embrace things that God hates, like mutually-consenting adults and babies!!

What religion do you think all those guys in the first congress were? You got it: Christian! This is not just a coincidence. You can only get revolutionary notions of government such as; "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion..." from those who have had the proper upbringing and are grounded in the wisdom that comes from believing in the one true religion. Therefore, this country needs to be willing and able to adopt laws requiring conformance to Christian values for its very existence. If we don't base our laws off of the Bible, then how can we continue to preserve a country founded on not basing laws off of the Bible?

God, why are so many people too stupid to see this?!

    Wrong, wrong, wrong!!

Many of the founding fathers were deists, not Christians. That means that they believed in God, but did not accept orthodox Christian beliefs.

Moreover, contrary to what you apparently believe, Christianity is not monolithic; it includes a considerably diversity of belief. Some Christians profess to believe that the Bible in its entirity is the exact word of God; others believe that while much of it was inspired by God, not all of it reflects the word of God.

If you want to see how Christian opinion has changed through the centuries, I suggest that you read book on the subject. I suggest that you also read the "Confessions of St. Augustine of Hippo," you can find it on the Internet.

And just where did you get the idea that Got hates babies? That is truly bizarre and I doubt that you will find anyone who agrees with you on that.

It seems that you believe that the entire Bible should be followed. Therefore, I assume that you believe that a law given in Genesis regarding the duty of a man to his deceased brother is binding, i.e., that if your brother dies childless, you are, regardless of your own marital status, required to impregnate your brother's widow and raise the child in the name of your deceased brother.

Your personal belief system is best left out of arguments about things you know nothing about. And since when did the USA exclusively become YOUR country? If I remember correctly, as christians have a long history of doing, they more than simply decimated the native, indigenous people living in all of the Americas. What makes you think being a christianist gives you such special rights?

Maybe there is a street corner in your part of YOUR 'Mericuh where you can stand and spout and bible thumb until it's time for your nap?

Chuckle chuckle chuckle, hahaha, why would you leave a poster on a public message board, well because we live in a free country , where we have a right to express ourselves, as yourself, sir. Its funny a conservative, would fight for your right to say what you please, what would liberal do? Well I will tell you, you want anyone who opposes you and your stupid politically correct world to shut up , go away, boot me off this message board, go ahead. Go ahead, have it your way but if we only have only one view point (liberal) than we have lost our freedom. How sad it would be, when you dont want to hear opposing views, especially ones you disagree with you but you are the only one that wants be heard, Thats a sack of crap. I said i would meet minds with any of you that have opposing views and encourage you to understand, what makes a great country, is that we all are free to express ourselves.

Now as to your choosing Sweeden as your great big LIE, my GOD !!! Are you kidding me? My sister in law is from Sweeden, and chooses to live here, in the good ole USA, thats right!! You can go move over there with your like minded kin and pay the exorbitant 85% tax, yep thats right 85 fucking percent. Oh but wait, you get cradle to grave service straight from the almighty government. They tell you how to live and they own you lock stock and barell, and you, dont even know it. Sweeden oh brother. My grandfather came here from Ireland and had 13 kids, first generation 4 millionaires, in the first generation!!! Name one place on the face of this earth, you can imigrate to and in the first generation has 4 millionaires. Thats right, again The good ole USA. The land of the free and the home of the brave, not the land of no freedom and home of the wimpy. How do you even live with yourselves, you thinking is so selfish, and you would like to squelch free thought only as long as you are the only one with an opinion. No thanks, I believe in One thing, Live free or die

    1. Brazil,
    2. Chile
    3. Argentina
    4. Uruguay (mostly for billionaires)

So, there are four places I can name that are in the Americas where you can move to and become a millionaire without even waiting for your children to achieve that status. And they are all democracies. Each has it's own set of political problems, but not one of them is interfering with becoming as individually wealthy as possible. In addition, they all have pretty much the same freedoms as delineated in the Bill of Rights and the US Constitution (except the right to bare arms).

And if you're referring to "the good ole USA"[sic] you must be part Mexican. I'm part Mexican. But we spell ole as olé. And it doesn't mean the same thing. Maybe you meant the gabacho dicho "the good ol' USA" as it is more correctly spelled by gabachos. However, considering the quaint sprinkling of other misspelled English words in your post, I doubt pointing anything out to you that you may find contrary to your point of view will just be swept aways as something liberal or the ravings of a libetard.

Something tells me you didn't do too well in school. Can't put my finger on it. I just have this good ol' feeling that you weren't much of success in the classroom. No problem. There are many other places where one can excel outside of grades K1 through K12.

    Flame . . .off.

C'mon guys, you can't tell I was being 100% satirical and 0% serious in that previous post?...Even when I said things like "God hates babies and consenting adults" and:

"If we don't base our laws off of the Bible, then how can we continue to preserve a country founded on not basing laws off of the Bible?"

It was meant to be an example of the kind of hypocritical, nonesensical thing a bible-thumping fundamentalist would say.

You don't know me or my politics. I have been an outspoken advocate for freedom of speech and freedom of expression since I was in my teens many decades ago. In fact, it was the first political issue that captured my attention and energy. Freedom of speech does not entitle you to spout off any damn thing you want in any forum. This particular forum has rules, which since your appearance here you have regularly violated.

Personal income tax rates in Sweeden [sic] range from 29-59%. The Sweedish [sic] people seem on the whole to be quite satisfied with their system, and they lead very healthy fulfilling lives from everything I've seen. It would be dandy if you could back up any of your assertions with links to verifiable information, rather than spouting out dubious personal anecdotes and jingoistic nationalistic slogans, all the while regurgitating craploads of false propaganda spoonfed to you by extreme rightwing media.

FYI, I have absolutely no intention of lowering myself to debate someone who proves his extreme ignorance and marginal literacy with every post, much less someone who proves with every post his only agenda here is to attack "stinking liberals" and stir up shit. It is not your right to speak your ill-informed opinion I object to, it is your off-topic comments and insults, your intentionally provocative demeanor, made worse by utter stupidity.

    Lawd, the irony.

Maybe there's a street corner where your "hysterical" bible thumping comedy would play better.

In the only other State that begins with "K"!
Oh it really goes WAY beyond this quote --- let's all look up Matthew 25. The last judgment! The Lord casts into everlasting perdition those who saw the hungry, the naked, those in prison, etc. and did nothing. "When did we see YOU Lord??????" "Certainly we would have done something for YOU!!!" In fact --- we were your chosen people, the agents of your hand in our beloved America!
    Really????????
"For as much as you have done it unto the LEAST OF THESE, MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS --- YOU'VE DONE IT UNTO ME!"
That's a part of the Bible they skip over.................repeatedly!
