Republican and proud of it.

I'm sorry, I totally, totally, totally have never understood this. I don't like all the stuff the Democrats put out (I'm a Democrat), but I cannot possibly understand a gay person being a Republican. Why would you be proud of being a member of a party that is the sworn enemy of people like you?

Just weird.

Yeah, Gay Republicans are "Uncle Tom Gay People." It would make as much sense if I were a Jew and a Proud Nazi.

As for me, I'm a registered Democrat. Here in California you have to register with a party affiliation and you can only vote in that party's primary. I like it better in Illinois (where I'm from) where you just register as a voter and pick the primary you would like to vote in when the primary elections take place. You can change every primary if you'd like.

My actual political leanings go toward Anarchist, actually.

I am a Democrat. I voted for Gore in 2000 and Kerry in 2004. And I'll most assuredly be voting for the Democrat in 2008. I've usually voted straight party line in almost every election since I've been able to vote. The exceptions have only been in local elections where the Democrat has been completely incompetent, a total whackjob, or where there wasn't even one in the race. I've also voted for registered Republicans a few times in local non-partisan elections.

I am a Democrat. I don't have the money to be a Republican!

I hear you. I get mad when I hear people say that Hollywood stars are hypocrites for being Democrats. I think the oppposite, they knew where they came from and feel the need to help others.

And if I ever do get the money, one thing it won't make me is a Republican.

The odor of both political parties offends me.

Those polished politicos, whether we hate them or admire them, posture and bump heads against each for the TV cameras during campaign season. However, Republican or Democrat, they all belong to the same country clubs and their kids go to the same private schools.

Its just that the foul odor of the Republicans has lately been offending me much more than that of the Democrats.

Sounds and looks like a Democrat to me.
Except for the same-gender marriages comment. The "democratic party" doesn't like queers any more than the "republican party." They just aren't as vocal about their efforts against us.

The poll would seem to have something in common with California's primary election rules - two party or don't play.

I'm near Miss Veronica Devine in my political leanings. And the entrenched two-party system is going to kill us.

Not true. The Democrats like "queers" much more than the Republicans do. In fact most "queers" are democrats".

Hhhhmm, let's see. Vote for the side that seems quite capable of pre meditated evil or the side that just seems to end up evil due to incompetence.

I'll vote Democrat anyway.

Id like to say that voting Democrat would end the illegal war in Iraq but, perversly enough, I'm not sure whether that's such a good idea anymore.

I'd like to say that a (female?) Democrat might make the world hate the USA a little less but I think that will take a long time to fade.

Fortunately, it appears that our own Prime Miniature (Dubya's Minime) will not be asked to form a government again after October. So that leaves Dubya as the only one left at the scene of the crime after Dancin' Tony took the prize and left early.

Not this queer.

And if the dems are so gay-friendly, why do I not yet have full rights of citizenship as outlined in the 14th Amendment? Don't we have a full democratic majority in the house AND the senate? They pay lip service to get the votes, but please explain to me how their actions are really any different from those of the repubs.

At least the republicans are honest about calling us gays "second-class citizens... and barely citizens at that."

In reply to my previous post. Are you saying that the Republicans like you as a queer better than the Democrats do?

Or are you saying that you are not a Democrat?

As far as the rest of your post "Rome was not buit in a day"

Please read a little more carefully. I have stated many many many many times that I am NOT A DEMOCRAT. I am also saying that the democrats are giving you lip service to make you think they "like you," but lip service is all it is. The democrats want to court you for your money and vote, but they really have no intention of granting you full citizenship. The republicans are at least more honest - they tell us up front they don't like us, they don't want our support, they wish they could strip away a few more of our rights.

And no, Rome was not built in a day. How many days did it take? Those fucking no-balls sissies in the Human Rights Campaign have been saying "it's not time yet" for how many years now?

I say fuck that. These politicians need to stop playing games long enough to have enough courage to stand up and say "this is not going up for public vote, anymore than any civil rights issue has. But gay citizens deserve the full rights of citizenship. Now."

The democrats made grand claims about how they were going to "clean house in the corrupt republican-controlled house and senate" when campaigning to get their current majorities. Now that they have the majorities, they tell us "we're actually quite a bit happier with this filthy house than we thought we would be. We won't change a thing!"

I'm registered as a Democrat, but often take sides in local elections with the "other" party. I don't consider myself a real Democrat, because there's no clear line anywhere. The Right Wing talk show hosts have divided American's as being one or the other, which the current "President" has used to get people to support his non thinking politics.

Libertine libertarian pot smoking acid taking mushroom headed ayhuasca gargling psychedilic shamanistic fool....

no, I'm no Democrat.

I normally do this too. The one exception was in 2000 when I voted a write-in (he was not on the ballot in my state) for Ralph Nader.
