@fournineteenfiftynine Well I can't know how it feels to be belittled for a shorter dick, but I'm completely with you on the body shaming thing. Can you imagine how nuts girls would go if clit or vagina size was as ridiculed as dick size. That's taboo, but dick shaming is very common and accepted.

I think people assume that people lie - but I don't think there is a lot of evidence that they do.
Over 80% here don't lie. I find that guys often under estimate cuz they down' know about bone pressed measurements.

What's worse is being small when flaccid. I'm actually okay with my erect size but I usually experience shrinkage when like at a nude beach or like at a gay pool party or something which makes it look even smaller. I know gay men especially size everyone up and make comments so I definitely avoid those situations. I wish I didn't have to because it would be fun.
Based on actual measured studies i believe the average to be somewhere between 5.16 and 5.6 inches. I put zero weight on self reports. I forgot the website, but there is a site that takes pictures of erections on a standardized background and they do measurements. One example stuck out in my mind. It was a penis around 6 inches measured. The man self reported his penis as 8 inches.
The largest result from an actual measured study I've seen is the Lifestyles study. That study came up with an average of 5.8 inches but I think it suffers from selection bias. They measured sexually active college studies on spring break in Cancun. You are not going to get many guys on the smaller end of average to volunteer to have their dicks measured by nurses while they are on vacation, whereas the bigger guys will line up at the chance.
It seems like the bigger the study the closer the average gets to 5 than it does 6 inches. As far as I know, there has never been a measure study that had an average result of 6 inches or more. You only see averages that high in self reported studies.

And of course, there are some who lie about not lying. It's the internet. Men on here will gloat and exaggerate. If there is no evidence for them lying, then likewise there is no evidence of them telling the truth.
I never understood the bone pressed thing. I don't give bp measurements.
Bone pressed measurements take out of the variable of the fat pad. Otherwise, if you are like me, your penis would be a different length everyday depending on hydration, diet, weight loss, weight gain, etc.
What I don't understand is why men are so eager to accuse other men of lying. Where does that come from? I don't experience, in my daily life, men lying to me? I don't lie on a regular basis. As you said there is no real evidence to men lying or telling the truth yet you assume men lie. Why?
One reason many men may lie may be that very hung men undeniably get respect from other men, as stupid and bizarre as that is because it's a genetic lottery but it's based very deeply in evolutionary biology. So a man who is 7 for instance might tell his friends he's 8 - it's only an inch but it'll almost certainly put him above all his friends. And how are those friends ever going to know if he's 7 or 8 erect? So he can get away with it.

We know men lie because there is a significant difference in results between measured and self reported studies.
There is also the testimony of people on this site stating that women think their 7 incher is a 9 incher because a guy with a real 5 inches told the girl he had 7 inches.
The only studies you can really go by are ones that are measured and without self selection like the Lifestyles study. Anything else is bunk, especially with self measurements.

I took a look at the measurement thread. I actually saw lots of photos of big dicks - whether they were nearly 8 or just a little over 8 I saw lots of dicks @8inches, and then a lot of noise from what I call the measurement nazi's nit picking over measuring techniques.
