Hygiene and swimminghalls... don´t get me started. :tapedshut:
This needs it´s own thread just to cover the basics... but the complete lack of of hygiene and/or common sense from most people never seize to amaze me.
What are people thinking when not showering before going into the pool or/and wearing your dirty underwear under the swimwear.

by the way, the other reason people wear baggy swimming attire is that in case they get a hard on, speedos offer zero opportunity to camoflauge, whereas baggy can at least help a little

what evident hygenic reasons? how is a speedo more hygenic than a regular pair of swim trunks?
Nobody wear Speedos to sit on the public parks benches, or to go to any dirty surfaces outside the pool.
But trunks can be used for walking around here and there as a casual pant.

The reasons I've heard is to prevent people from wearing everyday shorts in a pool, or swimming in shorts that have been out an about the city being worn for eating, sports, etc...as a speedo would most likely only be worn at a pool.
Also speedos don't have pockets so this helps to prevent foreign objects from being brought into a pool.
They use to require nude swimming and/or speedos due to the filters, though I don't know if this one is very accurate.
for some time as a teen I took care of the family pool. daily we added chlorine to the pool, ran a filter about 12 hours a day, and swept it at least weekly.
never had a problem with what people wore into the pool other than threads coming off "cutoffs".
I think it's a way to force boys and men into speedos. (nothing wrong with that)

They main reason is they don't want cotton shorts or underwear in pool. Cotton fibers stop up the filters...ever notice after you wash a load of cotton laundry there are always some cotton fibers in the washing machine filter? I worked as a lifeguard when I was a teen and we had to enforce that policy. If a dude showed up in boardies with underwear on underneath, we had to make him take the underwear off, and if someone showed up in a pair of cutoffs we couldn't let them in the pool. They had to be wearing swimwear, or Nylon shorts like Umbros, etc.

Really? the only guys I see wearing them are competitive swimmers and overweight 50 something baby boomers...all of the younger hot guys around here wear board shorts that come down to their knees at the pool or on the beach. LOL
Then they need some hot daddies how to show them the proper SWIM ATTIRE that doesn't look ridiculous like Cinderella's gown.
