Ol Rick looks like he is trying to make something happen, must hate being in the same numbers as Frothy Mix. Rick is a prime example of why teabaggers are to fucking dumb to allowed to vote.

well... the more he talks, the worse he does in the poles. less than 3% in Iowa right now.

Fortunately for Perry, there are quite few in the Arctic or Antarctica registered to vote in the US Presidential election. He might, though, be concerned about not being to get inside Poles.*

* If there's any truth to rumours, perhaps he'd be more concerned about these Poles.

No........he's just one of the many who feel that 1811 was a much better time for America than 2011!
Oh, here was me thinking that from around 1792 onwards the Bill of Rights said something like this:
1st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution said:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Whatever, I'm a dirty foreigner.

Quote:
"...but our kids can't openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school. As President, I'll end Obama's war on religion."

Hmm...

Conflating

1) a ridiculous allegation made by Rick Perry in his effort to misrepresent the President's record; with

2) a snippet of the law regarding constraints on Congressional powers; and

3) topping it off with an innuendo designed to suggest foul play is

4) disingenuous, logically fallacious, and one more example of blatant partisan trolling.

Wow, you were able to find an intelligible purport in Enzia's post; that was more than I could do. I could make no sense of his post because I erroneously assumed that no one here would be stupid enough to take Perry's statement that "our kids can't openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school" as a statement of fact, much less that anyone would take that statement of non-fact to show that there was such a thing as "Obama's war on religion."

Being from Texas, I'm not sure what to say anymore. I'm so sorry for Rick Perry. I didn't know he would be so retarded.

Well, you must not have lived in Texas long because he was retarded long before he became governor. As Lt. Gov under Bush he was just window dressing - nobody took him seriously. I cannot believe that he's still in office there. I'm proud of my Texas heritage, but Rick Perry is not a part of it.

you must have slept through Texas History Class other wise you'd remember that the Lt. Governor is more powerful than the Governor. Served 2.5 terms, appointed one and barely elected the first election and won by handy margin the second time. If Kinky Friedman had not run the Perry probably would have lost, Friedman split the vote giving Perry just enough votes.

Really? REALLY?!

The quote of Perry's is, quite obviously, complete bullshit. Not enforcing prayer is not the same as banning it. In fact, enforcing it is illegal according to the 1st ammendment, which I have previously quoted. The bit about Christmas is simply hilarious trolling on Mr Perry's part.

Have another go.

A person needs to think about this... The government isn't making it difficult for anyone to express their religion. Express it all you want. Only don't expect taxpayers to fund it. The ACLU last fall finally won the case which resulted in shutting the doors of Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy, a public funded charter school, in Inver Grove Heights, MN. It took two years and 8,000 hours of lawyers time to prove the school's kids were spending way too much time praying and studying the Koran. Freeom of religion includes freedom from religion.
