I actually found the song quite tuneful and I wouldn't switch channels if it came on.

But whoever wrote the lyrics is surely certifiable.

From both literal and metaphoric interpretations, it's actually about the commitment to stick out a relationship thru thick and thin as a couple. When one does well, they both do well and when times are tough for both they're there for each other. The umbrella to me is her good fortune and love shielding both of them from the torrential rains of misfortune.

Huh? She didn't turn it into a 9 syllable word, the producer utilized a delay effect but that didn't change the syllables of the word, just echoed it.

I agree until I heard marie digby sing it. I like the chorus about shining together and taking an oath about friendship, even when it rains.

She's a pretty puppet with sturdy strings attached. When the songs dry up she'll sink. But at the mo she's on a golden roll; Disturbia is yet another great commercial pop song. She doesnt seem to match her single success with album sales though, Ive noticed. Hmmm
