Frankly I'm amazed that someone can ESSENTIALLY ask (with an apparently straight face) whether police officers (i.e. LAW enforcement) should be expected to abide by the same LAWS that govern everyone else.
To which, I assume, the proper answer should've been, "Hell no. Why should we expect the police to have any RESPECT for the same laws they want everyone else to follow??"

If you think law enforcement officers should be granted zero discretion in their line of work, then I think there's going to be oodles of unintended (and seemingly unforeseen) consequences.
Again, you'll realize I asked you a question, which you still haven't clarified...nowhere did I assume your POV on it. I did, however, ask if it was, which provided the chance to engage in discussion and actually learn your thoughts.
