Turner Classic Movie just did a very touching tribute to the celebrities who died in 2012 (I can't link it because it had images of minors here and there) But I found this Celebrity Deaths: 2012 (I scrolled through... no minors) But they forgot my friend Susan Tyrrell - IMDb (I can't tell you how stunning we both were when we met in the 70's)

It left me thinking that there are not a lot of the stars left from the golden days of Hollywood so let me wish the following (Who are still alive) a happy and healthy 2013
Ladies
Luise Rainer
Olivia de Havillnad
(Joan Fontaine --- RIP December 2013)
Rhonda Flemming
Doris Day
Delores Hart
Mitzi Gaynor
Lauren Bacall
Lee Grant
Angela Lansbury
Debbie Reynolds
(Esther Williams --- RIP June 2013)
Kim Novak
(Audrey Totter---RIP December 2013)
Nanette Fabray
Rita Moreno
(Shirley Temple--- RIP February 2014)
Maureen O'Hara
Zsa Zsa Gabor

Gentlemen
Tab Hunter
Kirk Douglas
(Mickey Rooney --- RIP April 2014)
(Peter O'Toole --- RIP Dec 2013)
Hugh O'Brian

If I made an error or omitted anyone my apologies!

I'm helping someone do research for a book and I uncovered some of my errors here the following are still alive and with my apologies pay them homage...
Ladies
Gloria De Haven
Carroll Baker
Ann Blyth
Nancy Olson
Eva Marie Saint
Shirley Knight
Jane Powell

@rbkwp: Flattering that you quote my post and comment on it, but you did so by editing a post that appears before my own post in the thread.
This is going to confuse people a bit.
Maybe, in future, it would be better to create another post following whatever you want to quote.
Just sayin, my friend.

She is right in the middle of the list under Lee Grant. I saw her on stage this year in The Best Man. Angela Lansbury Biography | Broadway.com She was just as fabulous as always! She stopped doing the stage door autograph thing I noticed (but she is allowed it was a mob scene the night I went)

Must have been awesome to see her; sorry misread your post and thought she had passed away.

I've come amazingly close to actually meeting her about three times; but to no avail. But would love to so here's hoping our paths magically cross in 2013.

Angela Lansbury is due to appear in Brisbane feb 2013. Driving Miss Daisy, with James Earl Jones... thinking of trying to get along to see it.

Mickey Rooney was big box office back in his day along with Judy Garland.Tippy Hedren, Rita Moreno , Kirk Douglas..

Yep, I remember him and Liz Taylor in National Velvet, also his TV show that he use to have, can't remember the name. Right up to his bit roles in the Night at the museum movies with Dick Van Dyke, I was talking about his height. When Nudie mentioned in his original post about being careful not to name minors, as in underage and I was...................ahhh, forget it.

I added Kirk Douglas (I thought he died last year):redface:And added Rita Moreno too (She actually worked on the old studio lots in the 50's too) I don't know how I forgot her. Tippi Hedren's first movie was The Birds in 1963. I define the "Golden Age Of Hollywood" as anything prior to 1960 when the old studio system was still (fairly) in place. I don't think there was a studio contract in existence for actors after 1955.*
Studio system - Wikipedia
* From Wikipedia*
By 1957 independent producers such as Hal Wallis made 50% of full-length American films. Beyond working for others, top actors such as Gregory Peck and Frank Sinatra created their own production companies and purchased scripts. Top independent directors like George Stevens, Billy Wilder, and William Wyler also saw their paychecks increase, in part because their involvement attracted star actors. Studios increasingly provided funding and facilities to independent producers as opposed to making their own films, or like United Artists focused on distribution. While television had damaged Hollywood, TV production companies like Desilu and the film studios' own TV divisions helped save the industry by using otherwise-unused facilities.[5]
