Rubixican this isn't a good year for friends passing. I had 2 friend murdered so I can feel how bad you must feel now. A big hug to you. It won't fix anything but know that yr friends here are thinking of you and wishing yr friend a speedy flight to a better place. It sucks!

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I inform you all that at 5:37 this morning Tom lost is life. I don't really know what else to say, I'm sorry.

When I lived in Jersey we sometimes chatted on the phone about music. He was much more than just a pretty penis. He was smart, funny, and an incredibly talented musician. I'm gonna miss him. My deepest condolences, thoughts, and prayers go out to his family and friends. :frown1:

I thought to take-up a flower collection for Tom (MP666) and asked Rubixian7 for information about arrangements but so far have not heard back. Rubixian7's original post included Tom's last name.

So knowing that Tom's profile said he lived near Gettysburg (which he misspelled oddly enough), I've been watching the local papers throughout southeastern PA, particularly the Evening Sun and Gettysburg Times, looking for any obituary notices or news of the accident which supposedly took his life. There has been no obituary for anyone approaching Tom's general age or means of death. There has also been no mention of an accident involving anyone of about his age and both papers have written about other fatal and non-fatal accidents since the time Tom supposedly was involved in his. Obituary.com has no listing for anyone by his name nor anyone of his approximate age and circumstance of death in the entire state of Pennsylvania. I then went and checked his AIM and Yahoo! Messenger profiles and the only thing they tell me is that he's lying about his age on this site or Yahoo! Messenger as that lists him as being 25, not 29. The name Rubixian7 provided here happens to be the name of a family member of the Marvel character Wolverine and Tom was a fan of The Uncanny X-Men and Wolverine.

Believe me, I'm not disappointed to see Pennsylvanians driving so safely nor sad that I'm not seeing the name of a man supposedly cut down in the prime of life by a car accident. I am, however, skeptical about whether any of this is true. I've spoken to two other people here who knew him far better than I did and they have no more information than I do but are also wondering about why they can't find anything about this from independent sources. They too would like to send flowers or a note of condolence to Tom's survivors.

If there are any survivors and if there really was a death and if there really was a Tom L. to begin with.

Some of us remember an unpleasant incident involving the faked death of another member and I'm truly hoping (in a way) that this is not a similar situation. If we can confirm this member's passing then we can have his name (as the dead have no legal right to privacy) and find an obituary with arrangement information.

Another member who spoke to him on occasion told me Tom said he was born and raised in Frederick, MD. I checked the Frederick News Post and again, no death notices or obits regarding Tom, anyone by his name, about his age, or circumstance of death. Usually local papers report the deaths of long-time residents even if they have moved out of the immediate vicinity. I've checked Bucks County and many other papers in eastern PA to no avail. If anyone knows anything which might help, please PM me or post in thread. Thanks!

Was very sorry to hear the news and have no reason to doubt that the incident occurred, as I also received a personal, group e-mail from Rubixian. In the few times that I interacted with "Tom L.," I came to realize that he was a warm, special guy. Thanks, Jason, for digging for info and for trying to make a correlation with other sources. I had a different last name than the pseudonym by which some knew him. When I have more time, will try to follow up. As for the OP not posting to this thread recently, Nick, it could be from grief. If my understanding is correct, Tom and Rubixian were friends since high school.
