She was the living embodiment of understanding the assignment. I don't think most people will truly understand how hard she worked or what she endured. After truly devoting her life to service, duty and honor; she can finally rest.

One thing I've always loved hearing is about more candid encounters with her. From them, you realize she had quite the sense of humor and was a genuinely kind person.

As am American, I’m embarrassed by some of the recent tweets and comments that are coming from our citizens about the Queen. I think it is so disrespectful and horrible what they are saying!

I’m not British but I followed her work when I could and I’ve followed the Royal Family. I think people saying horribly bad things about a women who made history, at this time in her death, is totally dishonorable as an American. The Universe has ways of taking care of these individuals so I won’t wish them ill-will. I’m just embarrassed by these horrible things!

I wrote the Queen a letter when she lost on of her Corgies! AFter several weeks, I got a letter back from the Palace informing me the Queen was touched by my letter and the story of the Rainbow Bridge that I sent to her. Here’s a pic of my envelope and it will always be something I’ll cherish!

For the Queen, “Onwardness in Peace”.

I’m sure there are many people in the world who are don’t know/support/understand the Royal Family here in the UK, but this afternoon she passed away at the grand old age of 96.

I am sad about this as she has relentlessly served our country as the longest ever reigning monarch we have had.

Thank you, and RIP Ma‘am ♥️

Thank you for posting this Wine. If you don't mind I'm going to pin this and make it our official tribute to the Queen thread.

One Request.... If you don't like the Queen or the Monarchy that is perfectly fine. Please keep your thoughts to yourself or find another site to share them on. This thread is a positive and loving thread for Queen Elizabeth II. Please respect that.

I share your sentiment and have also sent the mods an email. I posted to the thread my feelings and my disapproval of American who are slamming a wonderful woman during her reign.

I wish the people of the UK all the best as they heal. I am an American and I share too in your sadness.

I was truly saddened to hear of her passing. I've always admired her. Just watching videos of how she interacted with children (or anyone, really) makes me wish we could have someone like that in the USA. I have family in the UK. This just cements my want/need to someday somehow find the money to visit the UK.

Yes, she loved and cared very much for her animals, for this I think she was a very genuine person and it followed through in much of her other life duties. She was also involved with pigeon racing and kept lofts. My Dad was a passionate pigeon flyer. No, I'm not a Royalist, but she was, always will be the most genuine of the Monarchy.

I hope when Charlotte someday becomes Queen, they are able to refurbish and fit Elizabeth II coronation gown for Charlotte to wear! I think that would be a wonderful sentiment to her Great Grandmother!

Could your family help? Surely you can find a way to visit. It's such a wonderful country.

It seems so weird to be talking about HM the Queen on a site like this, but she was a tour de force. She was the embodiment of an entire nation in one person. Perhaps most importantly she represented, consistently, a nation that had gone through many changes during her 70-year reign.

As a United States citizen, I do not agree with what she stood for. The idea of inherited privilege and right to rule is just not something I agree with. But that is a small thing, really. I still found her to be a very inspirational person.

I admired greatly how she stood. This rather magnificent person was exemplary in her steadfast commitment to the United Kingdom, to her role in life as she understood it, in her dignity, in her quiet commitment to her faith, in her willingness to adapt and change, her understated sense of humor, and in her desire and ability to keep private what should have been kept private. She set a supreme example of how a public figure should conduct oneself—an example that few other public figures manage to measure up to. I will miss that greatly.

Thank you Queen Elizabeth for a job magnificently done!

Her family will in time recover from their loss. In the meantime, I hope they will find comfort in their memories of her. They were fortunate to have known her personally.
