Not sure about the size thing but, I have a Rolex and a Tag Huer. I also have many other watches that are rather large. I don't care for the small wimpy ones. My wrist is about the same size around as my cock so I guess there is some truth to your thoughts about cock size and big watches with metal bands. I don't mind a good alligator band on a good watch but, they are hard to find in the longer sizes that will fit my wrist properly.
