I seem to be stuck in this romantic phase at the moment. Everything I have been saying lately has been heartfelt and emotional, dripping with "love".

I was wondering, What is the sweetest/most romantic thing someone has said to you? It could be during sex, it could be on the bus, it could have been at a wedding. I am just curious. The sappier the better. :biggrin1:

Thanks for depressing the hell out of me Jeffrey!

Just what I needed for the first cold, snowy weekend of the year here in Jersey. I wracked my brain, took a shower, and realized, I have nothing to add to this thread. Obviously I've had guys in relationships tell me that they loved me, but no man has ever said or done anything even remotely romantic or sweet for me.

    Hmm, guess that's why I'm still single. :17: njqt466

Yeh Jeff..welcome to the group....

The first most really romantic thing a boy said to me, after the fase of passing notes and etc in class blabla..was at the sunset in the beach in a summer late afternoon ...mmmm: " I can see the sunset in your eyes" .... lol... it was cool that he could see the sunset in my eyes... ....

After that many things came from guys and myself as expressive ways of romance...mmmm..very cool indeed and to me its not a fase but a way to be me - a hopeless romantic crazy woman on fire...

:smlove2: and the music "I can see the sunset in your eyes", that inspired Felipe L... is:

YouTube - Peter Frampton Baby i love your way LIVE=

Oh man..now that I can understand english wow...I can understand it did not meant just about the sunset in my eyes...wow....    Oh Felipe KungFu, sorry I was so shy and dumb...

In my case it wasn't something said but something done. When we would be doing the most ordinary things (driving, in an elevator, standing in line, watching TV) he would bury his nose in my hair behind my ear and inhale deeply then let his breath out on a sigh. It made me feel like I was the air he breathed.

A woman once wrote two poems for me. A ribald "An Ode to Spiker's Cock" and another I just can't find off hand. But it was absolutely incredible and shared at the best moment we ever had together. It made me cry and it made her laugh. :)

Hopelessly corny, I suppose, but my gf once told me that I give her a reason to live. I cried in private at that one and resolved never to do anything to betray that trust in me.

    Awwwwwwwww...
Well if it is any consolation... I had a hard time thinking of something romantic either...It doesnt mean you are horrible I suppose different people express themselves differently. Or perhaps what you didnt think was romantic was meant with romantic intent. I am learning a lot talking to my brother about man speak...Perhaps one day it will happen , maybe not but no matter what you are a gem that any man should feel proud to be with and when you least expect it ... it may happen...

Wait.. actually I did have a sweet thing said to me recently. It may not have had a romantic intent, but It still was very heart warming...

OK, a litte background: My husband, when we were dating, used to call my hair "Tinky hair" because of the wild way it stuck up on my head in the morning. I think he derived it from stinky. Anyway.

We were in the Philadelphia Art Museum in this restored medieval grotto, and he got down on his knee and whispered conspiratorially:

"Hey Tinky, you think you might maybe want to marry me?"

Yuo have to understand that such cutesyness is totally alien to my husband, who normally tries (snd I stress "tries") to be a tough, John Wayne kind of serious guy.

    It was very sweet.

The sweetest thing anyone ever said to me was probably my sister telling me over the phone how much she missed me when I moved into halls at Uni, after living at home.

That was just so sweet, not just because it was my sister, but, she's fairly heavilly disabled mentally and physically and can be a very vague and difficult person to communicate with; but she was very lucid and direct and sweet about how much she missed me, and it was the most sincerely loveing and sweet thing anyone has ever said to me.

That really is sweet- I work every day with people with disabilities so I know just how special those kind of experiences are- as they are rare, yet offer a glimpse into the person who is the person, not the disability.

:confused:I had to think awhile about this one- but then i remembered one of my favorite boyfriends- excellent musician- and he wrote me a song, played it on his guitar, and sang it to me. And I cried and cried cos it was so beautiful.

A card that Mrs. Lex has given me 3 times during our time together:

"Even in the world after this world we will be together...
Two magical beings of light and air,
    Dancing through the heavens
Shaking the stars free from the night sky.

Even in the life beyond this life,
Where a billion souls free-fall through the universe...
    I will come
    And I will find you."

Makes me cry every time I read it.

The sweetest thing a guy had ever said to me happened when he left his sweatshirt at my house. I washed it so I could return it to him the next day, but before I returned it, I cuddled it that night (I was secretly falling in love with him). When I gave it back to him the following morning he told me it smelled like me and wanted to know what perfume I wore. I was so embarrased that he might know what I did. About a month later, he confessed the sweetest thing to me... that he went home and slept with it while my scent was still on it so he could feel me next to him!

He used to always call me goofball, and just out of the blue look at me and tell me I was so beautiful, or so sexy. I'll never stop loving him.
