Seems like the links you cited are American citizens living overseas who donate, on either side. It doesn't show the ones that don't have to give personal information though.

It was the ruling of a conservative Supreme Court, a ruling that Democrats criticized and Republicans applauded, that opened the flood gates on unlimited campaign donations. And when Democrats in Congress tried to establish tighter rules on funding from so-called "super PACs", it was the Republicans who blocked the effort.

Upshot being, we'll never know where all of Romney's money comes from because, like much of his (not quite tangible) position on how he'll handle the DEBT, THERE IS LITTLE TRANSPARENCY.

I am a bit confused, PAC's are required to disclose funding on a monthly/quarterly basis. There is full transparency (though some may not come to light until after the election).

Look again at what I wrote. "We'll never know where ALL OF Romney's money comes from because there is LITTLE TRANSPARENCY.

Not just PAC's.

Not according to Citizen's United. Any donation over $200.00 does not have to be disclosed.

I was under the impression that you were talking about the PAC's because you mentioned the two court cases which lead up to super PAC's. Aside from this change, there hasnt been much change at all in regards to political funding (that I am aware of) and I dont really see the relevance to the rest of your post.

EDIT: Also, Obama is equally guilty of this transparency issue. It also isnt their fault, since it is the donor's choice. Blame congress for not passing transparency laws.

Citizen United will disclose the $200 though, just not from who. And I think they only have to report the donor if its over a $10,000 donation though.

Yes, that's correct, the name of the donor is sealed.

The relevancy is to your earlier comment re. campaign contribution laws (in need of being overturned) with which I am in agreement.

I'd also agree that Obama is guilty of transparency issues (I doubt "EQUALLY" as guilty) as well as guilty of using the laxity of current campaign contribution laws.

My point being that Democratic efforts to reign in those lax laws were largely opposed by REPUBLICANS in Congress.
