    I think I'm in love...

Actually, I fell in love with her in the book. I've since watched extended clips of Noomi Rapace as the Swedish cinematic Lisbeth, and I realize there are many who prefer her, but I think Rooney Mara has captured the literary Lisbeth with amazing precision and art.

Disclaimer: the book was a fun read for me, but mostly because of the fascinating Salander character. The narrative was a bit plodding. I don't want to disparage Larson, but it's Salander that drives these stories for me.

And I am currently obsessed with the latest version, i.e. Rooney.

I so cocrush on all incarnations of Lisbeth along with Ms. Enid.

Rooney's Lisbeth seemed more damaged/more vulnerable than Noomi's. One more open wound.. the other scar tissue.

Both compelling versions of an asskick lady of fiction

PS Noomi and Rooney are sweetass names

I thought she was very beautiful in the movie and I loved her performance.

Rooney is named for the Rooney family who owns the Pittsburgh Steelers. Her family and theirs are founding families of the NFL

Haven't seen the movies yet. I though the book was a really slow starter, but the second half made it all worth it. Not sure I will read the 2nd and 3rd books. I liked the first, but that was enough. Perhaps in Swedish it is a better read, just didn't have that je ne sais quoi for me.

I need to give Noomi some more time. Your assessment seems correct. But the book Salander really does seem more Rooney to me. In any event, I wholeheartedly agree with your "Salander Rules!" sentiment.

I'm smitten with her, the idea of her, everything about her......I am talking to myself in her voice......I adopt her mannerisms when I drive the car.....
