I do agree that a lot of these guys on OnlyFans or in “regular porn” or who are just constant social media thirst trappers are full of insecurities. And many don’t know how to deal with their past traumas, their sexual dimensions, their fluidity, contradictions, hyper-sexuality, where they are in the gender, sexual, affection, romantic, emotion, commitment spectrum and so on. So, they continuously say and do douche-y or exploitative things for attention or validation. However, connecting your “journey” to profit, manipulation and clout chasing is almost always a bad thing and will forever taint how you view queerness.
Furthermore, many of these guys are privileged as hell. There are some folks who feel forced into sex work (due to drug addiction, mental health struggles, family abandonment/disownment, being trans and fearing harassment in the work force, etc). But a lot of these guys are just lazy and taking advantage of being decent looking and “straight presenting”. While you can’t try to sell yourself as some “queer slut” on TikTok but still feed into hetero superiority, homo inferiority, “straight” worship. I believe in empathy, and most people have their own “journeys”. But the majority of these guys (specially the “straight”/“mostly straight” presenting guys) are problematic, and their main goal is to exploit their privilege, get your money and boost their ego. Let’s be real about that.
