Three or four times a week. Mostly 10k, but try to take myself out for a massive long effort once a week.
That's pretty intense! In my best times I run 3 times a week, two around 8-10k, and one longer run. Maximum these days is around 18k. But with the darker and very wet weather now it is 2 times a week and I really struggle to be outside long enough to reach at least 10k :D

LOL, gotta put up with crappy weather sometimes mate, no pain, no gain. You can help yourself with the shorter efforts though, by getting down the gym and using a treadmill sometimes. It's boring but at least you're not being pissed on - and you can challenge yourself with a constant pace.

Awesome work. I been doing at least a mile a day. I run after work so the light sucks. I tend to go after my workout. I do miss the longer runs from when i was marathon training. I trouble with some lose fitting clothes and chafing. The best seemed to be compression clothes for anything longer then 5 miles. I did use the anti chafe bar. Huge help. Im hoping in the future to start preparing for another major race. I am also trying to trim and strength train. Id like to get the times down. Big goal would be 45 minutes for a 10k.

I haven't done official runs since 2019. My best year was 2018, with a 10k in 42 and a half minutes. 45 minutes would be a challenge for me now. Maybe half a marathon would be a nice one, I never did one as an official run but quite a few times as a training.

Any daily runners here. I run every day. Sport short, thongs and tank. What do you wear.

I have been heavy most of my life. Chubby kod with 3 older fir brothers sucked. Now a dad trying to set good example for my son. Plus my 86 ye old dad makes me look bad. Lol. Hes in great shape.

I also use it as a way to decompress.
Been trying to get in to it more myself. Most always on treadmill (I know not quite the same), and moderate paces/distance, but I enjoy it. Yes a great way to decompress. Wear supportive underwear, gym shorts...and really comfy Reebok running shoes.

Running is running. If you can do the tread mill more power to you. I only do it if the weather is too bad(heavy snow). Its is too much slow torture for me. Lol

There's nothing wrong with the treadmill, it has many advantages: not having to deal with bad weather, very useful if you want to time trial at a constant pace, and you're not constantly having to look out for and dodge obstacles, which can get pretty tedious. I swear that motorists wait around corners ready to get in the way when they see me coming, and dog walkers aren't that much better.

I still like to get out on the roads at least some of the time though. Going for any length of time on the treadmill takes a lot of mental effort. I have to chuck a towel over the display and then guess how long I've been on it for, otherwise all I want to do is look at the numbers and think: is that all? I've still got to do how much?!?! Constantly changing scenery, and having actually to concentrate on where you're going, can be very helpful.

Ha, great thoughts birthday, thanks for sharing. Yeah I know I shouldn't beat myself up too much for using the treadmill primarily. I do enjoy it, and though yeah being out in the open is more...entertaining, it treadmills can be so much more convenient as you say. I use the one in my condo complex so it's nice to be able to use some weights and run as well in one workout. Hitting the pool and/or hot tub after right next to it is a bonus :)

For my part, I've settled into a pattern where I do a lot of my shorter training on the treadmill but go out for longer runs. The mental discipline needed to do something like a half-marathon on a treadmill - totally monotonous, no change of scenery, just completely relentless plod - is, for me, considerable.

Fortunately my gym isn't far from home, so I can run to and from there even if I don't need the treadmill. No pools, saunas, other nice-to-have's I'm afraid, but a great old school locker room and nice men with their kit off if I'm lucky with my timing. Some reward for all that sweating.

Yeah I hear ya. I've been trying some cycling lately to get outside more in that regard.

Yeah it's nice to have the home right next to the gym :)

Im in the sticks. I enjoy the runs on the back country roads. Yeah drivers can make it dangerous. I workout in my basement, so not hot guys to look at. Right now it works and i kove the feeling afterwards.

Yeah be careful out there. I'm always super cautious when I bicycle on roads sans (good) sidewalks...drivers are so oblivious sometimes :/

Been trying to get back in shape to counter all the holiday feasting, so I started back running about 2 weeks ago. Since I only wear my unlined white running shorts and running shoes, I've been doing dawn runs, when there is less chance of being noticed. Since I love to go commando and work up a sweat, the early morning showers also help to make my shorts almost transparent by the time I am heading back from the four mile trek thru the streets and a park.

This past week, I ran into a guy that lives about a block away, a Navy LT who is usually wearing only a pair of light blue "marine panties" and joggers. So we've managed to keep up on the same route a few times, and I can't help but notice his shorts are as soaked as mine after a few miles. So it's difficult not to have either of us notice the semis pushing out of the thin shorts material for the last part of the run. This guy is solidly built and has a few tattoos that I find intriguing, including one that peeks out of the waistband of his shorts.

After the last run this morning, I mentioned to him that I usually hop into the hot tub on my deck to soothe my muscles, and that he's free to join me if interested. Matt (his name) said he often times just cleans up, and rides into work with his roommate to the base, but that he would consider it on a day off, should be we on the run together. Yea, motivation to keep up my running.

That's really hot! Have you guys had encounters with other runners? I have had it twice, although it wasn't very spontaneous, one time I jerked off with a running buddy afterwards, we chatted online and went for a run. After the run we ended up jerking off together. And another time was similar: I went for a run with someone who like me is into tight running gear. We ended up jerking off in a toilet in a park. Both guys were very big btw and both were growers. Maybe running is extra good for your erection :D

Treadmill is harder in my view, not easier! Sure you don't have to deal with cold weather, dark etc. but I can't really switch off on a treadmill, always keeping an eye out to make sure I don't trip. I find it so much more relaxing to head out into nature and run.

I'm still running happily enough through winter, averaging 4 runs a week, although missing some of the country footpaths I run in summer, just too muddy and slippy at this time of year, so sticking to pavements.

Yeah I suppose it's harder in that sense (i.e. you have to make sure you're stay on the tread lol), but I think in general it's consider much easier because it's a controlled environment. The treadmill I use in my complex has a height adjustment, so at least I can sort of simulate a natural environment in terms of elevation. Idk.

For runners from Amsterdam: is there also a treadmill that can simulate wind instead of hills? :D

For me the hardest part of the treadmill is the non changing scenery. It so blah and never ending. Id guess its a mindset thing. I applaud anyone who can run on them. I can only do it once in a while.

Exactly the reason i like to run outside, and it's the same with running in the dark for me. I really have to kick myself out to go in these dark months.
