how many of us have ran free balling and?
was it just me or did it chafee?

I used to run late at night and enjoyed freeballing while running. It was dark so nobody could see the motion. I had a really light pair of shorts so it almost felt like I was running naked. Unfortunately, there was a lot of floppage and chaffing that occured especially on longer runs. That inner mesh fabric can be rough on the equipment. I typically wear a run/swim jock to keep the motion to a minimum unless I am just going a short distance.
Running commando is one of the most uncomfortable things I have ever done. Bouncing, flopping, chafing, and pain. I would never do it again. Definitely not enjoyable.
I agree with previous posters. Running commando is not something I would reccommend, with all that movement going on down there sometimes it feels like you kicked yourself in the balls.
Bad idea. It feels like you're bruising your balls.
I guess my balls are too high and tight to experience the problems that last two guys have had. I just felt total freedom.
I have always enjoyed running commando. Yes, it is a bit uncomfortable with it all swinging around but I have not had problems with chafe, bruising or pain. I guess that guys who are new to freeballing may have more problem with bruising and pain because their balls may have lost the natural support that nature gave them and have to regain that support. Having freeballed almost 100% of the time for 30+ years, I don't have that problem. I have run naked down mountains and jumped large gaps between rocks without ever experiencing more than a slap of my balls against a leg, no pain. The slight discomfort is well worth the feeling of freedom.

I found - by painful experience - that the answer to chafing was vaseline on the inner thighs and sac prior to starting the run. Others swear by a product called "Bodyglide".

There are a bunch of bikers at the gym who use the bodyglide stuff. It looks like they are getting ready for some serious fisting or something. They reach in and grab a big glob of the stuff and smear it all over their asses and crotch. I have always thought that would be worse than some chaffing. It seems like it would be really uncomfortable.
Going commando while playing soccer as a younger lad because I hadn't done the laundry was the biggest mistake of my lifetime.
That or the time I decided that I was too small to trigger avalanches.
Doesn't bother me. I don't have low hangers.
I always just run in my running shorts with nothing underneath but the inner lining. feels fine to me
I do it all the time and have never had a problem. Agreed with the previous poster who said that it feels like "total freedom."
It works that way for me, too. I used to always wear briefs for running, but won't do it again. The ventilation is much better than sweaty cotton clinging to you.
thats backwards i wear compression shorts when i run
I have direct orders from my doctor to "support those boys." This was after checking in for a swollen testicle a few months ago. He actually hinted that some of my back problems might be associated to free balling as well??
Tried it once. Never again!!!
