Marble Framework

31 March, 2017

Today, March 31st 2017, WikiLeaks releases Vault 7 "Marble" -- 676 source code files for the CIA's secret anti-forensic Marble Framework. Marble is used to hamper forensic investigators and anti-virus companies from attributing viruses, trojans and hacking attacks to the CIA.

Marble does this by hiding ("obfuscating") text fragments used in CIA malware from visual inspection. This is the digital equivalent of a specialized CIA tool to place covers over the english language text on U.S. produced weapons systems before giving them to insurgents secretly backed by the CIA.

Marble forms part of the CIA's anti-forensics approach and the CIA's Core Library of malware code. It is "[D]esigned to allow for flexible and easy-to-use obfuscation" as "string obfuscation algorithms (especially those that are unique) are often used to link malware to a specific developer or development shop."

The Marble source code also includes a deobfuscator to reverse CIA text obfuscation. Combined with the revealed obfuscation techniques, a pattern or signature emerges which can assist forensic investigators attribute previous hacking attacks and viruses to the CIA. Marble was in use at the CIA during 2016. It reached 1.0 in 2015.

The source code shows that Marble has test examples not just in English but also in Chinese, Russian, Korean, Arabic and Farsi. This would permit a forensic attribution double game, for example by pretending that the spoken language of the malware creator was not American English, but Chinese, but then showing attempts to conceal the use of Chinese, drawing forensic investigators even more strongly to the wrong conclusion, --- but there are other possibilities, such as hiding fake error messages.

The United Arab Emirates arranged a secret meeting in January between Blackwater founder Erik Prince and a Russian close to President Vladimir Putin as part of an apparent effort to establish a back-channel line of communication between Moscow and President-elect Donald Trump, according to U.S., European and Arab officials.

The meeting took place around Jan. 11 — nine days before Trump’s inauguration — in the Seychelles islands in the Indian Ocean, officials said. Though the full agenda remains unclear, the UAE agreed to broker the meeting in part to explore whether Russia could be persuaded to curtail its relationship with Iran, including in Syria, a Trump administration objective that would likely require major concessions to Moscow on U.S. sanctions.

The problem is it's only half the truth, and as I said before, a half truth is a whole lie. The information released was only against Hillary and the DNC hence the public only had half of the "truth."

NONE of it was about Trump or the RNC. Assange once "joked" about releasing Trump's tax returns. If he (anyone) is interested in the "TRUTH" then why would that be a "joke"?

And no, this particular liberal didn't support Snowden either. He and Assange are both criminals imo.
What percent of the main stream media is in favor of Trump?

And surprise (not) who wants to sweep it all under the carpet.

Neocon Think Tanks and other ‘Experts’

Craig Timberg’s other supporting ‘evidence’ or opinion (it’s hard to tell the difference in the Washington Post these days) is being supplied by Clint Watts from the ubiquitously titled, Foreign Policy Research Institute (FPRI), a Cold War era ‘think tank’ (not surprisingly, still stuck in the Cold War), no doubt with links to Washington’s intelligence establishment. If that think tank sounds familiar to any neocon fossil hunters, you’d know that FPRI is run by none other than John Lehman, one of the original signatories to the neoconservative doctrine of continuous war, Project for a New American Century (PNAC), and a foreign policy advisor to both John McCain and Mitt Romney – two virulent anti-Russian hawks....

I know this is a late reply. Trump has made several gestures to distance himself from Mitt Romney and John McCain. Is Trump a Neocon? I don't think so, but more will be revealed. There is no doubt, war is "good" for business and Trump is pro-business.

Blackwater founder held secret Seychelles meeting to establish Trump-Putin back channel

Completely and utterly full of shit.

This is how the first paragraph should have read if the WaPo gave a FUCK about the accuracy and responsibility of it's reporting.

The United Arab Emirates ALLEGEDLY arranged a secret meeting in January ALLEGEDLY between Blackwater founder Erik Prince and a Russian ALLEGEDLY close to President Vladimir Putin as part of an ALLEGED effort to establish an ALLEGED back-channel line of communication between Moscow and President-elect Donald Trump, according to ALLEGATIONS of U.S., European and Arab officials.

The Washington Post has become about as good at reporting as a junior high school newspaper. I can't believe that you don''t realize that the "certainty" of language which the article used is NON-EXISTENT and the WaPo just INVENTED their "certainty" out of thin air.

It is 100% allegations lobbed by unnamed officials... NOTHING has been fact checked or corroborated by any other source... it's a complete fantasy. Whose fantasy is it? It's certainly not mine... IS THIS YOUR FANTASY?

I mean... how much of your being WANTS this to be true? I think it's every fiber in your being... you WANT it so bad that there is not a spurious allegation or a leap of faith that you weren't interested in... it's beyond ridiculous. It's actually qualifying for insanity at this point... I don't think you have any sanity left... you seem to have repeatedly jumped the shark soooo many times that you are now thinking of becoming the world's best "shark jumper".

You are certainly one of the best wolf criers this site has... now you have added shark jumping to your list of specialties... what's next? Pairing that with extreme nihilism? Oh that's right... you've already won the lpsg nihilist championship... what a piece of work... your family must be so proud of your accomplishments.

Trump has himself to blame for what's covered in the media. And the dismissive attitudes that conservatives and those of your ilk have toward it CLEARLY demonstrate your hypocrisy and double standards.

FBI Forming Special Unit to Investigate Trump-Russia Ties

FAIL!!!!!!!

The Daily Kos blurb you linked to didn't actually report that article... the Daily Kos blurb requires a PAID MEMBERSHIP TO THE FINANCIAL TIMES IN ORDER TO ACTUALLY SEE THE INFORMATION that the blurb is "advertising".

more of your fucking SPAM and now you are SPAMMING for the Financial Times whether you even realize it or not... it was waaaay more important to SPAM than to even check to see if you could even read the article for free.

Do you have a paid subscription to the Financial Times? HOW DID YOU READ THE ARTICLE?

I don't think you even read it... and JUST SPAMMED US WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING WHAT YOU WERE SPAMMING US WITH. Highly unethical and entirely pathetic.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here for both sides..... each claims the "FBI is investigating ______" in support, or defense of, the other. Isn't it funny how the same claim was made about JFK conspiracies, his assassination, LBJ conspiracies in the event and his subsequent spying, and countless other events? History has proven all of this has been correct, some of the evidence has resulted in charges and some not, some of this has resulted in truths no side cared to admit, and some of it is yet to even be declassified.

When accusations were made against JFK contradicting his stances (as supported by liberals), everyone cried foul, yet history has proven undeniably that while he was "pro civil rights", he was anything but when it came to his agenda, going so far as to violate the US Constitution almost more than any other President in history, save FDR. Thirdly LBJ. We still don't know the extent of Constitutional violation when it comes to those administrations, and likely never will.

Every single administration in almost this entire nations history has engaged in domestic espionage and we the general public are likely to never know the true depth of penetration. Washington is an elitist society that while enemies in the public eye are certain to be friends behind closed doors.

Regardless of what we "see", what intrigues me most, is that both elitist sides hate Trump with a passion. I'm a student of military history, and (IIRC), no two sides have publicly hated any President so much since #6, John Quincy Adams.

Given Trump's poll numbers, I'd say the "elitist" bar is set pretty low right now.

. . . no two sides have publicly hated any President so much since #6, John Quincy Adams.

One side's hatred of Obama was also pretty unprecedented.
