Yes, my opinion is that I have never read a larger number of unsupported claims in one article than this one.

For example, to claim that environmentalism and preservation of the world's climate is all a "Gore agenda" is ridiculous. The climate science community all around the world has been working on this for some 50 years and concluding this for some time now. Al Gore merely served to raise the American public's consciousness about it as he has done a number of times in is career about other important science and technologies.

I am pretty sure that Al Gore is not responsible for single handedly convincing climate scientists around the world that we are threatened by anthropogenic climate change. If so, anyone with that much worldwide influence should be president.

Now that's I cut & pasted the URL...

It's incoherent, unfocused, uncited, unsourced, and appears to be just another piece of conspiracy propaganda.

There are people who run the world but they're not nearly so in agreement or organized as the conspiricists would like to think.

I agree with you JA...of course Gore doesn't set the agenda. I don't think, however, that was the crux of the article. Is that really all you got from that?
No, but it is a good example of the elliptical reasoning throughout the article. The author is not really interested in good reasoning. As jason said, its kind of a propaganda piece, which relies more on innuendo than it does on scholarship.

How you get from Al Gore's populariizing the scientific community's climate concerns to worldwide genocide from starvation is beyond me. This is not much more than a screed.

Yes...it is a screed, but one that engenders thought JA. Getting beyond the author and Gore, Democrats and Republicans, left and right, ...blah, blah blah. Has the system really gotten to the point where we as individuals don't really make a difference? Does it really matter who you vote for? Is the agenda already set? Is American democracy a facade? Who are these people who run the world Jason and why do you assume they would be in any way altruistic? I also want to believe in the kindness of strangers but my experience leads me to believe that it just doesn't work that way. Individuals yes...any group or organization...no. Conspiracy theories aside...does naiveness then become a virtue?

Hi Jason and JA...I assume you're watching the State of the Union address. I tend to think that this is much more dangerous propaganda then the article I posted. Jason...I'm just curious, what makes you think the powers that be are not organized? I certainly don't agree with everything stated in that post but I do think that there is an agenda in place that we as individuals really don't have any real influence over. Power as I know it leads me to believe that there is no ceiling and absolutely no end to it. Therefore, the few who hold that power are more inclined to wield it then to share it, just based on human nature. I expected a bit more discussion on this...

Well, you can't disprove a negative so I won't even try. I think that people tend to be people and all the best laid plans of power tend to go awry at some point. Sure the economic fall of the US, re-rise of Russia, bin Laden, and a whole host of other things could be planned in some shadowy underground lair in Switzerland under the control of the Queen Elizabeth and her other reptilian brethren, but if they really did, I think they could do a much better job than they're doing.

Mission accomplished...No child left behind...Weapons of mass destruction..."My answer is bring them on."...on Iraqi insurgents attacking U.S. forces, Washington, D.C., July 3, 2003...and from tonight's address..."So, this time, if you send me an appropriations bill that does not cut the number and cost of earmarks in half, I'll send it back to you with my veto."...I guess that would be the tenth in 8 years?...I doubt it, a landmark to be sure but obviously no propaganda involved in any of those statements. Osama Bin Laden?...solely responsible for 9/11?...sorry to invoke that sacrosanct date.

Both of you usually post intelligently...but is propaganda really the crux of your rebuttals? I know I'm instigating but I promise I'll stop now.

Good point Jason...but who's to say the falls and rises, and a whole host of other things are being carried out in the shadows? and what makes you think they are not doing a great job?...actually Switzerland is not a bad choice. QEll would have been certainly replaced by now and as far as the reptilian brethren?...I wouldn't believe everything David Ickes has to say...lol

Then let me ask, what proof to you have to offer? You've given us an uncited source. It could just as well be about events on Neptune. Without documentation of allegations I don't see what there is to refute.

Of course Switzerland isn't. It's made precisely for just such occasions from the impeccably discrete hoteliers, punctual transportation, ultra clean streets, to the secret banking, mass of NGOs, superior communications systems, and legal neutrality. Unlike the Caymans, they're not some silly banana republic either.
