The Republican party is morally bankrupt. They are the party of hate and fear, nothing more and nothing less.

Now, they have just degraded into the party of racism, ignorance, stupidity and unabashed greed... i.e. complete moral bankruptcy.

I could not have said it better. The Bunning blockade is living proof who they are for. Holding up a bill that could actually save people from losing their homes. And he worries about fiscal responsibility? What fucking joke. And the WSJ Journal is upset over ABC News coverage over Bunning? Not about what he's doing but about the coverage. Are they serious? Indeed they are. Completely bankrupt.


Now Mr. Steele tries damage control:

"You don't defend it," Republican National Committee Chairman Michael S. Steele said Thursday in an interview on Fox News. "It was unfortunate. Those were images that were uploaded off the Internet. They've been out in the public domain for a while. A staffer was putting together a presentation for a small group of nine or 10 folks and thought they would intersperse their presentation with humorous shots. They're inappropriate."

That said, it seems unlikely that any splintering will take place while the party is gaining momentum.

I don't see how being forced to admit that you were cynically making fun of your own donors can be construed as 'gaining momentum'... Especially when those donors were already not giving money to the Republican Party like they have in the past. Increasingly, Rep party money is going to other things, like teabagger shit and other fringe parties... The Dems don't have that problem. Polls are nice, but you need big bucks to make those numbers com true on election day.
