Sad Good-byes

H8Monga: My dvd player and stereo both have a good-bye message when I turn them off. It's kinda sad. They gave my electrics some kind of personality and when not in use they miss me even if I am still sitting in front of them! This isn't as bad as quitting Sim City for the SNES which to me had a very sad good-bye message.
I just want to say to my electronics, I'M HERE! Don't cry. I'll use you again very soon. Maybe you should say "See ya later!" because "Good-bye" sounds so final.

mindseye: Heh. Does your computer ever ask, "Are you sure you want to shut me down, you heartless bastard?"

I've replaced my AOL "Goodbye" .wav file with the sound of a toilet flushing.

The "Welcome" is now the Big Bopper saying, "Helloooo, Baby!" (for a while I had the Three Stooges doing their "Helloooo, Helloooo, Hellooooo!" schtick.

And the "You've got mail!" is now Shaggy saying, "Zoinks! You've got mail!"

I always thought the local red light district was the most normal bet! ;-)

ORCABOMBER: Oh yes, Soho is famous in London for that.

It's pretty boring during the day though. Somehow the thought of women being reduced to meat doesn't appeal to me. I think their value is somewhat greater than an extremely expensive hamburger! ;D

And get one for those programmers too; who needs a "Good-bye" message some other waste of memory? Gates's Law.
