I didn't want to write a brand new thread about this, but rather find a thread about HIV AIDs.....

I've noticed recently, that those with the virus have a particularly unique scent to their breath almost similar to a sweet bread.

This might be my observation, but it's fairly constant among my friends who happen to be positive. Has anyone else ever heard of such a thing?

I think you're having an osmic psychosomatic reaction. Which is to say, you perceive a smell where no smell exists because you are aware of some common trait which has specific connotations for you about those upon whom you perceive the smell.

It's a well known phenomenon. It says something (I don't know what) about your subconscious reactions to those around you who are HIV positive. It does not suggest that people with HIV have funky breath, which is frankly a pretty horrid thing to say or suggest.
