Stupidest fashion statement ever, Started with inner city youths, then spread even to rural America..
Sadly all but too many young African American and Latino males, think the look, is cool. Hell it may be on the block; but once you are off the block, people look at you like you are nuts.
Never mind that the practice is historically rooted in prison life, youths are so desperate to emulate prison life, they dress the part. Kind of the reverse of wearing a tie, to emulate business attire .
I have spoken to a few young men on the topic. I few I reached, A few could care less.
I sent one temp employee home , with pay because of the sagg look; with a warning the next time no pay and he could stay home
Some American states, have laws the make it illegal to dress this way in public. I am not overly fond of state Governmental guidance on that personal a level. But I do support fashion policing , and I just shake my head
