I saw it in imax 3D, and didn't like it too much...kinda hurt my eyes and i didn't like how you had to focus on only what they wanted you to focus on. But it did make the experience a lot more epic once i relaxed and just enjoyed the movie

I saw it in Digital 3D, I was blown away by the scale of it, it was epic! It was love at first sight. The story isn't original but the effects are the best ever... Go and see it on a big screen! James Cameron did it again!
Even after the revolutionairy effects from Terminator 2 and Titanic he raised the bar ever higher! respect!
I don't know anything about Sams' little Avatar ;-)

real nice graphics. awesome movie. MUST SEE. And terminator salvation is totally owned by Christian Bale, not by Sam Worthington.

Did anyone get to see it in 3D or in the Imax theater? I am up in the air about watching it with glasses on since I wear glasses and they never seem to work right with 3d glasses.

Didn't see it at IMAX, but it was fucking amazing with 3d glasses. Loved it!!!

saw it in 3D this afternoon. was a great show for the special effects with a weak story and the typical bad ass americans trying to obliterate the world. lol. really, really great look to it. i wear glasses but didn't use them when i had the 3D glasses on cause i can see good enough to not need them. the 3D was amazing.

I agree that Sam stole the show in Terminator Salvation. He gave so many levels in his understated acting. Whereas Christian's acting was a little wooden and one-dimensional. I did not see the charismatic John Connors in him. But, then again, the script didn't really offer him the chance. It totally negated the character's sense of humour and sense of fairness that were established in T2.

Was having trouble finding box office stats for this but saw on tv 232 million world wide opening weekend. I wonder how many screens that makes. Imagine just the cost to distribute it world wide. Jeesh!

just found this and thought I'd post it

LOS ANGELES – James Cameron launched his science-fiction epic "Avatar" into a safe orbit as the costly film soared to No. 1 with $73 million domestically and $159.2 million overseas, for a $232.2 million worldwide total.
With that big a start, distributor 20th Century Fox was quick to proclaim it made a good investment with the estimated $400 million spent to make and market the film, which is Cameron's first narrative feature since 1997's "Titanic," the king of modern blockbusters.
"Absolutely. No question," said Chris Aronson, head of distribution for the studio, which reported stellar reaction in exit polls from audiences after seeing "Avatar." "The word of mouth is something that I don't know I've ever seen in this business before."
"Avatar" was a test case for the future of digital 3-D projection, which until now has been a hit with audiences mainly on animated family films.
The film fell short of the record for December debuts of $77.2 million set two years ago by Will Smith's "I Am Legend." But it did break the record for a film opening in 3-D, previously held by last summer's "Up" with $68.1 million.

i saw it in digital 3D and i thought it was an amazing movie, the graphics were top of the line and even though it is a 2.5 hour long movie it does not feel it!

Loved it, but reminds me how destructive and loathsome human beings are sometimes. So it was sad too. I saw it in 3D Imax also.
I agree i think that is one of the many messages Cameron tried to get out to the audience.

OK, I know this movie is not out on DVD's yet...but I saw it on 3D the other day. The movie was awesome but what I can't keep my eyes off of was Sam Worthington's crotch!

I'm not much of a bulge fanatic but that guy is freakin HOT! And his bulge was always protruding whenever he lays down to change into his avatar.

Anyway if you haven't seen the movie you really should..aside from the effects you will be just dumbfounded by this guy's crotch :p

(Sam Worthington's aussie aint he...does that mean theres a big chance he's uncut?)

This is a great movie and even though the caracters are animated they are taken for the real people.... the movements and things are done by the actual actors and the characters are the real people done in CGI... So even though it is animation the cahracters are so very close to real that they are not really animation at all...

I thought the story was dull and derivative, but had absolutely no problem looking at Sam in 3-D for almost three hours. What a hot guy. I liked him in Terminator Salvation, too. Now I'd like to see him in a role where he can use his sexy Australian accent. Preferably a movie set on a beach or in a gay bath house.
