I admit that I'm not as up to snuff in the world of British Politics as I should be (and I think I've said thos exact words before)...
However, I'm fairly certain that, while Elizabeth is the figurehead of the CoE, the government doesn't actively engage in religious doctrine. Am I wrong? Does Parliament force Methodist congregations to perform Jewish weddings? Are Catholics forced to allow Muslims to marry Lutherans in their churches? I know that English law allows Jews to marry. And I know that English law allows Muslims to marry Lutherans. But, as far as I'm aware, English law places no stipulations on who churches must and mustn't marry in their buildings/ceremonies/what have you. What makes you think, Adrian69702006, that the law will suddenly start making such provisions now?
It's a preposterous supposition. And it's born out by fear mongering propagandists, and none else.
