You summed up to me what's wrong with AEW altogether to progress even further.
They all just want to hear praises and glory, but as soon as, you point out the flaws, you deserve to be dragged, bullied, harassed (AEWBotches) and even get your life threatened (Jim Cornette, Jim Ross for saying live WWE Dynamite or awarding Randy Orton as the best wrestler over Kenny Omega) or more recently Big Swole (who made valid points about AEW originals getting push down the card only to be featured 3 minutes on Dark or Rampage, in favor of ex-WWE recents arrivals).
Whenever a non-positive critic is lashed out on AEW, Tony Khan and their rabid fans (mainly those from SquaredCircle in Reddit) comes out of the woodworks with forches to attack the individual who dared not kissing AEW's ass.
It avoids AEW wrestlers like Sammy to actually progress to expand their popularity, but also to put their shit together, because AEW feels like a circle-jerk cult more than an actual open-minded wrestling company.
I think that's why Sammy is parading in a cocky way about fucking Tay, and acting erraticly behind the scenes, because he thinks that since he's an AEW wrestler, and the way the fans are acting like it's the 8th wonder of the world, and thus they can't do no wrong, especially against the bad evil WWE, he'll probably get over it.
